summer holidays. We want to study various aspects of our course practically. Our teacher
intends to take us to plains, deserts, rivers, hills and even to the ocean. The study of all
these things is included in our course. For the time being, we want to study the rocks, hills
and mountains. For this purpose, we want to go to Gilgit, Hunza and Skardu. You are
requested to grant us permission to go there. We hope that you would consider our
application sympathetically. The recommendation of the concerned teacher is attached.

2. For the change of subject

I am a student of intermediate. I took up Economics as a subject of my studies at the

time of admission. But now I want to take up History in place of Economics. You are
requested to allow me to change the subject. I thank you in advance.

3. Explaining your misbehaviour towards a teacher and giving your humble

apology.

Yesterday, I was sitting in the class. It was sixth period. I was sitting just under the
fan. I do not know when I fell asleep. The professor got angry with me. I tried to explain
the reason. But he ordered me to leave the class. At this I felt insulted. I refused to leave
the class.

Sir, no doubt, it was my mistake. I should have left the class. Anyhow, I offer my
heartfelt apology. I would be very careful in future.

4. For the issuance of character certificate.

Most respectfully, it is stated that I had been a student in the college for two years. I
passed intermediate in the first division from here. Sir, I had been a hardworking student.
I had been captain of hockey team for two years. I also won the first prize in the annual
debates on the topic “East vs. West”. Now I want to apply for admission to Medical
Colleges. I am to submit Character certificate along with the admission form. Please issue
me a character certificate so that I may apply in due time.

5. For college leaving certificate

Sir,

I have been a student in your college for six months. My father has worked in this city
as a teacher in the Education Department. Now, he has been transferred to Lahore. My
family is shifting to Lahore. I have to go with them. I cannot stay behind alone. You are
requested to issue me a college leaving certificate. I hope you will oblige me.

6. For fee concession

Sir,

With respect, I beg to say that I belong to poor family. We are eight brothers and
sisters and I am the eldest. My father is a clerk. He cannot bear the expenses of my
college education. Therefore, I request you to grant me fee concession so that I may get
admission and continue my studies. I hope that you would consider my application
sympathetically.

7. For leave

Sir,

Most respectfully, it is stated that I have been ill with fever for the last three days. I
hoped to get well soon but could not. My doctor says that I am suffering from typhoid. He
has advised me a complete bed rest for two weeks. Thus, I am unable to attend the classes
in this condition. Therefore, I request you to grant me leave for the said period. I would
surely be obliged for this grant of leave. The advice of the doctor is attached.

8. For readmission

Sir,

Respectfully, it is stated that I went to my village to see my parents a fortnight ago.

Unfortunately, my mother fell ill. She was admitted to the hospital. I had to be there to
look after her. I sent you an application for leave: but unfortunately, the application could
not be delivered in time. Only the post office is responsible for this negligence.
Consequently, my class teacher has struck me off from the college roll. Sir, you are
requested to grant me re admission to the college. I assure you that I will be careful in
future.
 9. Remission of fine

Sir,

Most respectfully, it is stated that my teacher has fined me Rs: 50/- for being absent
from the class. It is true that I have been absent from the college but I cannot be blamed for
that. It was because of my illness. The medical certificate is attached.

I live in a village forty miles away from the city. In my village, there was no one to
carry my application to the college. I posted the application to you after two days but it was
delivered late. Sir, I belong to a poor family. I cannot pay the fine. It is requested that my fine
should be remitted. I would certainly be thankful to you for this kindness.

10. Remission of library fine

Sir,

Respectfully, it is stated that the librarian has fined me Rs: 50/- for being late in
returning the library books. Sir, two weeks ago, I went to my village to see my parents.
Unfortunately, my mother fell ill. She was admitted to the hospital. I had to be there to look
after her. I sent an application for leave. You very kindly granted me the leave. I came to
college after fortnight. Then I went to library to return the books. But the librarian told me
that I was late in retuning the books. He asked me to deposit a fine of Rs: 50/- Sir, I belong to
a poor family. I cannot pay the fine. You are requested to remit my fine. In future, I will be
careful in returning the books in time.

11. For the grant of scholarship

Sir,

Respectfully, it is stated that I belong to a poor family. I have been granted admission
to intermediate Part-I in your college. The classes started last week. My father is too poor to
bear the expenses of my education. You are requested to grant me a scholarship of Rs: 1000/-
per month so that I continue my studies. Sir, I assure you that I will leave no stone unturned
to get distinction in the annual examination. It may be of some value to mention here that I
got a merit scholarship in class eight. I hope that you will not disappoint me.

12. For refund of library/hostel security

Sir,

Respectfully, it is stated that I have completed my college education. The annual

examination is over. I want to go back home. You are requested to refund my library and
hostel security. I have paid all the dues of the library and the hostel. The N.O.C. from the
concerned office is attached.

13. For Financial help form a special fund

Sir,
Respectfully, it is stated that I belong to a poor family. I have been granted admission to
intermediate in your college. The classes started last week. I tried my best to buy books but
could not. My father is too poor to buy me books. You are requested to help me with some
money for a special fund so that I may buy the books. Sir, I assure you that I will leave no
stone unturned to get good marks in the annual examination. It may be pertinent to mention
here that I got third position in the Matriculation Examination in Lahore Board. I hope that
you will not disappoint me.

14. To grant you one month leave

Sir,

I have been ill for a week. Though I have been taking medicine, I have not got well. Today, I
went to my doctor for a thorough medical check up. After various tests, he concluded that I
am suffering from hepatitis C. This is a serious disease. He has advised me to take a complete
bed rest for a month. Therefore, I request you to grant me leave for one month. Surely, I will
be grateful to you for this kindness.

15. For condoning the shortage of lectures

Sir,

Respectfully, it is stated that all the students of intermediate have been asked to fill the
admission forms for the board examination. The clerk has refused to give me the admission
form as I have fallen short of the required percentage of lectures. My attendance in the
subject of English is 67% while the required percentage is at least 70%. So I have fallen short
of lectures by 3% only in the subject of English.

Sir, you are requested to condone the shortage of lectures. I assure that I would fill the
required percentage by being present in the class during the remaining three months of our
academic session. Surely, I would be obliged to you for this kindness.

16. For availability of medicines in the college dispensary

Sir,

I humbly inform you that I am the best athlete of the college. Yesterday, while
playing I got injured by the hockey of a player. I went to the college dispensary for first aid.
The dispenser said that he did not have any medicine to give me the first aid. I simply got
shocked to hear this. Though I was not seriously injured, I needed first aid. Luckily, a
professor of our college was sitting in the dispensary. He took me in his own car to the
nearby hospital. In this way I reached the hospital in time.

You are requested to take notice of that deficiency and provide the college dispensary
with the necessary medicines. Surely it would help us to handle any mishap in future.
