OBE Framework

Instruction: In your own perception, discuss the given framework below in not less than 300
words. You may use separate sheet of paper if necessary.

The framework above shows how to achieve the goal of an institution by breaking them
into smaller pieces, followed by the program ILO and lastly the course ILO. The framework also
shows the approach or styles that an educator must do to achieve the three types of ILO. These
approaches are the engage, explore and apply which are important in the teaching and learning
process. The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) offers a structured approach to curriculum
design that prioritizes student achievement. This framework establishes a clear structure of
learning objectives, ensuring alignment between various educational components.

The foundation of the OBE framework depends on the Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs)
these broad objectives define the ultimate goals for student learning across the entire
institution. While the Program Intended Learning Outcomes (PILO) function as specific learning
objectives tailored to particular programs of study, such as teacher education. If we talk about
the Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILO) these are small objectives carefully outline the
expected knowledge and skills students should acquire within a specific course offered within a
program.

professional standard serve as crucial reference points, ensuring that program goals align with
the necessary skills expected of qualified educators. While the role of the Outcome-Based
Learning Tasks plays important role in the framework. These tasks function as the practical
activities students undertake to show their knowledge of the assigned learning outcomes.
Through Outcome-Based Learning Tasks, students have the opportunity to apply their
knowledge and showcase their acquired skills. The role of the assessment in this framework is a
forms of foundation ensuring effective learning. This process involved the evaluation of student
learning against the defined objectives. The gathered assessment has an important purpose.
First is, it allows educators to measure student achievement and identify areas where additional
support may be needed. Another purpose is the data becomes instrument in refining and
improving the curriculum to better facilitate student success.

Overall, the OBE Framework serves as a guide for ensuring educational effectiveness. By
carefully aligning curriculum objectives from the institutional goals to the specific objectives of
individual courses. The framework fosters a cohesive learning experience. This alignment
paired with strategic assessment practices, empowers educators to tailor instruction and guide
students towards achieving their full potential. Through this structured approach, the OBE
Framework works to ensure that students graduate not only with knowledge, but also with the
skills and competencies needed to thrive in their chosen fields.
