A Student Development Programme (SDP)

“IoT Using LabVIEW”

An SDP on “IoT using LabBIEW” under BEC-Idea Lab in association with ACME was organized
from 14th -16th September, 2023in Multimedia Seminar Hall, Basaveshwar Engineering
College, Bagalkote. The resource person Ms. Chitra. J, VI Solutions, Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore was
delivered all the three days sessions with introductory remarks . The session started with a
formal inaugural function where Dr.VijaylakshmiJigajinniSDP Coordinatordelivered welcome
speech and given the brief about the SDP. Prof. Sandeep KugaliSDP Co-coordinator
introduced the resource person.Dr. Anil D. Devangavi talked about IDEA lab and Dr. Kiran
Belavalad talked about ACME, finally Dr. Sridhar K, Prof., and Head, ECE Dept., addressed
the gathering. At last Dr. Mamata J. Sataraddi proposed vote of thanks.

The resource person started with first session on Engineering Solutions usingLabVIEW Why?
What? How?, it was wonderful, madam talked about One of the main benefits of LabVIEW
that its graphical programming language, which makes it easy to create complex motion
control applications without having to write a lot of code. This means that even users with
limited programming experience can quickly develop sophisticated control systems. And she
talked about LabVIEW supports many different data types including booleans, numerics,
strings arrays and many more. And she told LabVIEW is one software tool that can span all of
your hardware components. Drivers are readily available for common hardware devices.
Each hardware driver shares a similar, familiar programming model, and examples of how to
use the model install directly into LabVIEW. In Second session she talked about Graphical
Systems Design Using NI’s LabVIEW Environment.

The sessionswas highly encouraging for students. The sessions catered lots of interest
among the students to learn about LabVIEW. Students participated enthusiastically in all the
sessions and they felt friendly atmosphere while doing laboratory sessions with madam.

Madam talked about Programming concepts Structures & Loops, Arrays, Loops, Registers,
Clusters, Strings, Graphs, file IO database with respect to LabVIEW. And she conducted
Hands-On for the same.

We have received an enthusiastic participation from students , total of 50 students were

registered. With this SDP we would be able to inspire our students to think, innovate, and
develop courage to follow their dreams in LabVIEW. Concluding with the statement that this
SDP has very well satisfied the main goal of future for students.
Here are some objectives and Outcomes of SDP:

Objectives:
The objectives of the proposed SDP are to:

 Enable the student for solving Engineering problems using LabVIEW simulation tool
 Prepare the students to use LABVIEW in their project work.
 Provide a foundation to students to use of this software for real time applications.
 Develop programming and problem-solving skills
 Understand modular programming
 Develop industry competent professionals with practical knowledge

Outcomes:
