Silicone Electrical Conductor Line Insulating Sleeves

Silicone Electrical Conductor Line Insulating Sleeves

(Press Lock Type) SECLIS-PLT

Silicone Electrical Conductor Line insulating Sleeve are designed to increase system reliability by
reducing wildlife related outages. System interruptions and equipment failures caused by wildlife and incidental
vegetation contact can be minimized by the use of Conductor Covers. With economy developed, environment
pollution is getting worse, the situation of power substation insulation and protection is serious, especially for the
old substation. Pollution flashover, raining flashover, line trip because of icing, small animals, uncovered busbar,
all caused to damages and injury accidents. More and more power substations choose silicone rubber overhead
line cover to insulate the substation

The covers are made with a full-length extruded silicone rubber supplied in a reel in a flat format. The
edge of the product is formed to lock together when installed on an electrical conductor. The installation requires
dispensing of silicone sealant in the lock and pressing the two ends together to lock, forming a circular cover over
the bare. The covers are offered in thickness appropriate to voltage class for use up to 220KV.

Advantages of Silicone Electrical Conductor Line Insulating Sleeve (Press Lock Type) SECLIS-PLT

© Excellent thermal conductivity of silicone rubber cover, can effectively reduce the operating temperature of the busbar, increase the carrying capacity to
solve the aging cracking due to temperature rise.
© Made of silicone rubber
© High resistance to aging and erosion
© Simple and fast installation, widely used in emergency repairs or temporary insulation protection of equipment.

Ÿ Anti-aging property of silicone rubber cover. Silicone rubber overhead line cover span life can up to 20 years, which greatly reduces the cost of recoating, power outages
and blackouts caused economic losses.

Installation Guide

£ Cut the SECLIS-PLT to required length

£ Dispense Silicone Sealant in locking groove
£ Fold the SECLIS-PLT to cover over the conductor so that groove and lock face each other, Press with hand to lock
£ Connect the bulging part of the on one side into the concave channel of the other side and squeeze the connecting part from one end to the other.
£ Wipe off excess sealant ooze with cloth after making sure that the two ends are fully locked
£ Secure the SECLIS-PLT with cable ties with gap of 300-450mm to secure till Silicone sealant cures
£ Make sure the Lock channel of SECLIS-PLT is facing down. If required, twist the SECLIS-PLT product and secure it with cable tie to compress and
hold on conductor
