Subsequently, it is possible to choose the path where to install Arteco Server Suite. However, it is
recommended to use the default settings.

Note:
• the MariaDB Database is forcibly installed in the server installation folder, typically C:\Program
Files\ARTECO-SERVER\database
• The folder containing the thumbnails is forcibly placed inside the database folder, typically
C:\Program Files\ARTECO-SERVER\database\thumbnails
• In the case of installing the Suite Server on a machine where an Arteco Server installation is
already present, for example an update of a previous installation, everything remains as before:
thumbnails and database paths remain the same and are not modified

The "Select components" screen shows further possible choices for installing Arteco-Server. It is possible
to make changes, based on the type of product purchased and the licenses in possession, or keep the
proposed default values.

The following screen shows the screen that allows you to select the folders relating to the various
Storage and Configuration paths, such as the network ports used by Arteco Server:

- Storage path: it is the default path of the recordings.

At this juncture, only one storage path can be specified for images from all cameras.
If the number of cameras is high and/or if you have several storage units, it is recommended to
enter additional paths through the Omnia client or Omnia Configurator.
- Configuration path: this is the path where the Arteco-Server configuration files will be saved. We
recommend that you do not change this setting.
Note: MONGODB will be forcibly installed in C:\ProgramData\MongoDB
- Mobile Apps Port: it is the port used for data transmission via the web, such as Open Connector,
External I/O. Set the preferred port based on the network configuration of the system.
- Omnia Web Port: it is the port used for data exchange between Arteco Server and the Omnia
Web client. Set the preferred port based on the network configuration of the system.
- Use License Server: if enabled, it allows the system to be installed on Virtual Machine. It will
therefore be necessary to indicate the IP address and TCP port of the License Server to allow
interfacing between the VM and the server that controls the license.

N.B. The Windows user who installs and configures the installation of the ARTECO-SERVER Suite must
have write/read permissions in the selected folders. Contact your System Administrator to verify this
setting.

The "Additional process selection" screen shows further possible choices for installing Arteco-Server. It is
possible to make changes or keep the proposed default values.

The "Use English system of measurement instead of the international system" option is only used to set
the image analysis unit of measurement to feet [ft] or meters [m]. The default (not selected) sets the
measurement in meters.
Startup settings determine if and how Arteco Server will be automatically started when Windows is
started:
- Failover Server Mode (Sync): Enable this mode if the system has this license and the Server on
which the Suite is being installed is the "Failover Server Sync".
- Arteco Server Suite Standard Mode: Arteco Server is installed as a Windows service and started
without the need to log in to Windows. RECOMMENDED OPTION

The next screen summarizes all the choices made in the previous installation screens.

Once the "Install" item has been selected, the program will take care of installing all the necessary
components, as well as applying the necessary rules for port management, at the Windows firewall level.
At the end of the installation, the installation completion screen appears, with the possibility of starting
the Omnia/Omnia Configurator client, and starting the Arteco Console.

Furthermore, it offers the possibility to interact with the system:
• Using the 2 larger icons, green and red on the right, it is possible to start/stop all the services at
the same time.
• It is also possible to perform the operation on only one service at a time by right-clicking on the
name of the service.

Using ARTECO CONSOLE it is possible to directly access various folders, useful for system diagnostics
and maintenance. Right click on the hamburger button at the top left of the console to view all available
options.

INSTALL AND CONFIGURE ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE

Nowadays it is extremely important to protect systems connected to public and private networks,
especially when they contain relevant data.
In order to protect a computer running the Arteco Server Suite software with an antivirus software, it is
important to exclude specific file types and directiories, as well as to monitor and control the
network traffic.
Video Management Software (VMS) servers running high-performance databases should never be
scanned. The video recording and database sync tasks use lots of resources on the drives, at a very high
speed. This means that an anti-virus software could affect the performance of the server, with a concrete
possibility to corrupt video recordings and databases.
When you need to perform virus scanning, do not scan Arteco Server Suite directories containing
recording databases (by default these are located here: C:\ARTECO-STORAGE\), as well as all subfolders
under that location. Also, avoid virus scanning on local or remote archive storage directories.

Directories:
- C:\ARTECO-STORAGE\ (and all subdirectories)
- C:\ProgramData\ARTECO (and all subdirectories)
- C:\Program Files\ARTECO-SERVER (and all subdirectories)

Arteco Server Suite processes also require the following incoming ports to be open:
- Arteco Server: 7000, 7002, 9091, 50050, 8000
- FTP server: 21
- Arteco Mobile Server: 80, 443, 554
- Security Connector: 7999
- Arteco License Server: 7001

Note: All the ports above are the default ones. You may need to open more or different ports depending
on your system configuration or changes been made (i.e. analytics, generic events, have extra ports that
may need enabling.)

Configure the following additional exclusions:

- .ibd
- .hdr
- .vinfo-data
- .vinfo-idx
- .eye .log

Alternatively, you can exclude network scanning of the following processes:

All the Arteco* services listed on the Windows Task Manager and the Filezilla Server.exe process.

Also, if your anti-virus software allows to check internet-based inbound traffic, do not forget to configure
the antivirus software to exclude from scanning IP addresses of cameras and other devices.
By implementing these exceptions, the antivirus scanning will not create conflicts and will save system
resources, avoiding issues such as disruptions in the recording process or database corruptions.
Last but not least, update Windows to the latest version available.
