CONDUCT OF THE WEEKLY KALINISAN ( CLEAN -UP ACTIVITY)


FOR THE 1ST QUARTER OF CY2024 AND DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD
PACKS TO COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS

TERMINAL REPORT

RATIONALE:

The 1987 Philippine Constitution stipulates that it shall be the policy of the state to
protect and advance the right of the people to a balanced and healthful ecology in
accord with the rhythm and harmony of nature. Consequently, R.A 7160 mandates that
all LGUs shall ensure and support the right of he people to balance ecology and
preserve the comfort and convenience of their inhabitants , among others , to promote
general welfare.

Hence, Barangay at Kalinisan , a nationwide community- based clean -up drive


program , anchored on the culture of bayanihan is launched in order to provide a
healthy and safe environment for the people through proper solid waste management.

At the barangay level, weekly Kalinisan activity has been done by the community
residents.

Attainment of objectives :

1. Community residents participated the weekly clean – up drive, preferably every


Saturday or Sunday or Holiday to encourage participation of the general public.
2. Solid Waste Management program implemented.
3. Spirit of volunteerism is enhanced/ established.

Date and Clean -up Sites

The activity was conducted weekly starting January 6, 2024 up to the present . This
includes cleaning up along the streets, roads, creeks, playgrounds, pruning thick
bushes or tree branches, dredging of clogged canals, esteros and waterways,
collecting and segregating the solid wastes present along the roads and vacant lots
within the barangay.

All community residents based on the schedule( depende sa inyo agreed
strategy)

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITY:

The activity was led by Punong Barangay _________________________. Garbage


collected like empty bottles, cellophane , plastics were brought to the Material
Recovery Facility , while the biodegradable wastes were placed in the designated
areas.

DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD PACKS FROM THE DSWD:

On ________ , a total of 150 food packs from DSWD were distributed to the identified
participants of the Kalinisan activity. The distribution was held at Barangay Covered
Court , Dipolo, Molave , Zamboanga del Sur .
