Introduction

I would like to welcome you all to our assessment center Masbate Institute of Fisheries and
Technology, an accredited assessment center for Organic Agriculture Production NC II.

I am Diana Kim b. Pialago your competency assessor for Organic Agriculture Production
NCII. Here is my ID to prove that I am a competency assessor in Organic Agriculture
Production NCII.

First, I would like to acknowledge the presence of our TESDA representative Ms. Christine
Peruelo and our AC manager Rean Recto , You do not have to worry about their presence
because they are just here to oversee if the conduct of the competency assessment is in
accordance with the prescribed methodology and procedures of TESDA, they are not here to
assess you, because I will be the one who will assess you. Okay.

Checking of Attendance

Okay, candidates hand over to me your admission slip together with your valid I.D as I call
your name and please affix your signature in the attendance sheet. May I call on Ms.

Importance of SAG

I have here with me your accomplished application form and your self-assessment guide;
this is an indication that you can perform all the units of competency enumerated in
Organic Agriculture Production.

Importance of Assessment

Of course, the purpose of this assessment is to determine the level of your competency. I
will collect evidence through observation, demonstration, and oral questioning. This is for
us to measure your underpinning knowledge, skills, and attitude in this qualification for
the issuance of National Certificate.

Evidence to be Gathered

Qualifications or units of competency to be assessed are the basic, common, and core
competencies where the basic and common competencies are already embedded in core
competencies namely;

Raise Organic Chicken

Produce Organic Vegetables
Produce Organic Fertilizer
Produce Organic Extracts and concoctions

And 2 electives
Raise organic hogs
Raise organic small ruminants
Since this Qualification is cluster based, each core competencies are clustered into 4
COC’s. for you to pass the national certificate you need to pass all the task from four
competencies and at least one from the electives. However, if you fail you will be given COC
from the competency that you have passed.

Task to be performed is a demonstration and oral questioning. For the demonstration, you
will identify the tools and equipment used in raising organic chicken for 10 minutes. And
prepare soil media in producing organic vegetables for 15 minutes. In producing organic
fertilizer, you are going to make a compost pile for 30 minutes, and you will make
concoctions for 15 minutes.

After that, I will conduct an oral questioning. Is that clear? Before oral questioning, lets
have 30 mins break to have lunch. And after that we will resume to oral questioning. Okay?

My role as an assessor is to observe and to rate if the candidate on the conduct of

competency assessment.

Personal Needs

For your own personal needs, the comfort room is located at the end of the hallway.

If you want to take your meal, we have a canteen outside the assessment center. However,
during assessment, you are not allowed to leave the premises of the assessment center.
May I ask, is there anyone here who has personal dilemmas or physical disabilities? None?
Religious activities? So, it's good then. In case there anyone has here, just approach me so
I can address you.

If there is an emergency do not hesitate to call my attention immediately. However, during

the assessment, you will not be allowed to leave the premises of the assessment center.

Allowable and reasonable Adjustment

If you have difficulty understanding the given instructions please do not hesitate to call my
attention because I am willing to explain and translate it to you.

Dos and Donts

So now, let me remind you the Dos and Donts during our Assesment.

 Always observe occupational health safety.

 Accessories should removed.
 No phones allowed while conducting an assessment.
 Avoid loitering and interrupting your fellow candidates during assessment
If you have concerns or questions, and there’s a need for you to clarify the matter
concerning the assessment you may ask for I am willing to assist you. But please be
reminded that once the assessment has started you will no longer allow to ask questions.

Issuance of NC

For the issuance of your Nc, If you have passed the assessment, the issuance of NC is three
days after the assessment you can claim your certificate at the TESDA provincial office
upon presenting your CARS, brown envelop, 50 pesos, passport size picture with white
background with collar.

Re assessment Procedure

To those who failed the assessment, you don’t have to worry about it because you can have
a reassessment at any time your convenient time. In case the re assessment is full
qualification you have to undergo the whole assessment, process and will pay ________

If you have found to be competent in some unit of competency, example is when you are
qualified in raise organic chicken, produce organic and vegetable and produce organic
extracts and concoctions and failed at producing organic fertilizer, the re assessment will
just focused on the unit of competency that you are found to be NOT YET COMPETENT.

And if you have failed 2 consecutive assessment you are adviced to take a refresher course
before applying for re assessment.

To Confidentiality of Result

With the result of your assessment, we observe strict confidentiality this is to ensure your
integrity; this is only made available to the right personnel and to the institution where you
had your training.

Rights and Appeal

If you have a question regarding the assessment result you have the right to appeal, you
can submit your appeal to the AC manager right after the assessment, or else your appeal
will not be acknowledged.

In relation to this, the assessment package will be placed in a secured place, to guarantee
the integrity of the assessment package. Please do away from giving information that took
place in the assessment process.

If you do not have any questions or clarifications, then I am going to give you a copy of
“Specific Instructions” Please read carefully for 5 minutes if you have questions, please
bring it out so that I can assist you.

Candidate number 1 prepare soil media,

Candidate number 2 perform FPJ; Candidate number 2 FFJ

After 15 minutes, switch activity

After that you both make a compost pile.

After 30 minutes… break time

After that …………

Assessor will call candidates one by one for oral questions.

Candidates please be gathered at the waiting area, and as I call your name please come
inside for oral questioning.

4. Breeds of swine
5. Breeds of goat

Candidates, please be at the holding area for the result of the assessment. And as I call
your name please be with me at my table.

Ms. Bergantin, how was the assessment? Please sign the rating sheet. Okay you have
performed all the tasks very well. You have performed land preparation with appropriate
measurements. You have used tools appropriately and used proper PPE’s. your
demonstration of how to make a compost pile is good. You have answered all the questions
correctly and one little thing is that you should always organize tools and materials after
using. But overall, I would like to congratulate you for a job well done! You are competent
for this qualification.

Please sign the CARS. After 3 working days you will be able to get you NC at PO at
Masbate. Thank you!

Mr. De Mesa how was the assessment? Please sign your rating sheet. Are you feeling well?
Upon your demonstration on land preparation you are able to demonstrate it properly. You
are very industrious and hardworking. You answer questions also correctly and you did
your best to finish the activity ahead of time especially in making concoctions and extracts.
However, with improper packaging of concoctions the concoctions will be contaminated.
Right? For now I am sorry to say that you are not competent in producing extract and
concoctions. But don’t worry you can apply for assessment for this competency next time. .
