ANALYZE

How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the
students going to school? What are your conclusions?

Students' learning environments are the classroom and the school grounds. As a result, the
elements that make up these two could have an immediate impact on how well children
learn. Whether a pupil learns successfully or not is determined by everything that goes into
the classroom and the school.

For instance, children may learn more effectively and produce positive learning outcomes if
the classroom is tidy, comfortable, and distraction-free. This is because there will be a calm
atmosphere surrounding them, providing them with a conducive learning environment. On
the other hand, disorganized classrooms might have an impact on students' performance.

To sum up, the physical surroundings, such the school grounds and the classroom, are
among the elements that have an impact on pupils' learning. This means that in order to
make these learning places suitable to learning, the school and the teachers must make
sure of it.

8|F i e l d S t u d y
How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development? How
does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?

The notion that the school environment plays a crucial role in determining how well students
learn is linked to the concept of "nature vs. nurture" in the development of children and
adolescents, specifically the idea of what the "nurture" was trying to emphasize. According to
this theory, social interactions, the people and surroundings in a child's immediate vicinity,
and other environmental elements all have an impact on a student's learning and
development. This implies that the school campus, which is a crucial learning environment,
ought to provide pupils with positive experiences and must support the pupils in developing
their moral principles and personal development.

REFLECT

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why?
Why not?
To be very honest, I've always dreamed of teaching at Guipos National High School
as I grew more accustomed to the campus setting. From the gorgeous structure and
well-ventilated classrooms to the excellent facilities that give children access to
educational materials and facilities that are important for their growth and learning.
They give students the chance to achieve exceptionally well academically and
foster professional development among educators. Finally, they place the highest
priority on the standard of instruction and support they will offer to their pupils.
2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?
Students study more effectively on a campus that is conducive to learning. It needs
to be secure and safe, hygienic and environmentally friendly, devoid of any kind of
distraction, and—above all—it enables students to learn efficiently by empowering
them to be authentic, self-reliant, and leaders of their personal. It is imperative that a
school site fosters the development of values in pupils and assigns authentic
assignments that allow them to use their acquired knowledge.

3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?

-A learning-friendly classroom has the following qualities:

- cozy and bright

- properly ventilated

- Desks are useful and well-organized.

- The ground is spotless.

- provides a cozy environment for productive learning students have a feeling of

appreciation and welcome.

- fosters optimism among pupilsIn the future, how can you accomplish your answer in
number 3?

4. Write your additional learnings and insight here.

I'm going to do the following to create a classroom that is learning-friendly:

- Encourage the pupils to assist in keeping the room tidy by providing them with cleaning
supplies.

By doing this, I am also assisting the children in developing self-discipline and teamwork
when collaborating with their peers, as well as an awareness of their obligations.

- Create a flexible, efficient seat arrangement for the classroom that is updated each
term. This will be beneficial.

pupils to build relationships with their peers and improve their social abilities.

An Observation Guide for BOARD DISPLAYS

Read the following carefully before you observe.

1. Go around the school and examine the board displays. How many board displays
do you see?
2. Where are the display board found? Are they in places where target viewers can
see them?
3. What are the displays about? What key messages do they convey? What images
and colors do you see? How are the pieces of information and images arranged?
4. What materials were used in making the displays? Are borders used?
5. Do you notice some errors? (misspelled words, grammar inconsistencies and the
like)
6. Are the messages clear and easily understood?
7. Think about what got your attention. Why did it get your attention?
8. Take a photos of the display board (if allowed).

Based on the questions on the observation guide, write your observation report:

have a green border and a white background with a pattern, measuring 72 by 40 inches. The
first one, which is the one with the pink tint, has health and safety information that both
teachers and children should be aware of. It includes safety regulations as well as crucial
advice and reminders. The other one, which was the blue and yellow A4 bondpaper attached,
provides information about the many campus facilities funds, including the School Paper Fund,

Left side close to entry- is made of plywood and is the same size as the right side. With its
expansive "SSLG TRASPARENCY BOARD" arrangement, the information is typically obtained
from Guipos National High School's SSLG offices. A large tarpaulin with extremely readable
text was plastered on the board. The text is primarily yellow and white, which makes it easier to
read.
In conclusion, the school utilizes board displays to easily inform students about what they need
to know. These boards made the information dissemination easier as students are more
attracted to what is being posted in the board display. Creatively lay outing these boards is also
important to visually stimulate students while learning important knowledge that these boards

Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand? Why?
Why not?

- The language used is English. It uses simple words as the labels of the information or
materials

posted. The font sizes are also legible from a distance.

Was the board display effective? Why? Why not?

-The board display was effective because it conveys the important information in keeping the
audience updated right after they enter the campus. Also, catched the attention of the
students, teachers, and staffs because of the simplicity of the board ddisplays.

What suggestions can you make?

- To improve this board display, I’m suggesting to pay attention to the design and lay-out of
the

materials because these aspect are the key the effectiveness of the board display and to

1. Name at least five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with
effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skills is needed.
 Creativity—he/she must think beyond the box, he/she must be optimistic and original
creator of unique ideas
 Innovative—innovation must be his/her main goal, board displays are common but a
teacher must create incomparable board display or at least produce something that
exceeds the commonality
 Resourceful—buying new materials is not wise, a teacher must be able to utilize
creatively available resources which will also contribute in reducing more waste
 Critical thinking—creating a board display requires critical thinking as facts and
evidences are important in board display, a teacher must be able to understand the
source of the information and identify the unnecessary information
 Confident—believing and trusting oneself is the most important thing when creating a
work of art, a teacher must manifest confidence in his/her work because that will give
him/her the mindset that the result will be successful

2. Which of the skills you named in # 1 do you already have to be able to come up with
effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skills is needed.
-The skill that I already have is being confident person. I have not experienced
making a board display before but I have the confidence that I can make one
someday and develop my own board display when I become a teacher.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on how
you can improve on or acquire these skills.
-There are various skills that I still need to developd such as, creativity, innovative,
critical thnnking skills, resourceful and more. There are many skills I need to develop
and im ready to embrave the development of mine someday somehow.
