BUSINESS PLAN – BANANA CORNER

Introduction

This business plan is made by Banana Corner, a food stall that offers a variety of banana snacks and
desserts. Banana Corner is built with the idea of solving the students’ problem about the affordability and
convenience of buying food in the concessionaire. The business would not only sell unique and fresh
banana products but also render services, such as deliveries and reservations. Banana Corner is a food
business that focuses on solving the problem of students when it comes to falling in line and the
affordability of foods. Our business offers different banana snacks and products, since bananas are
abundant in the Philippines and a lot of Filipinos love it as much as they love mangoes, we decided to
bring it to the food industry.

Product

Banana Pops

○Frozen bananas coated with chocolate and sprinkled with their chosen toppings that are served in a
popsicle stick.

➢Banana Balls

○Fried rice balls with banana fillings, glazed in caramelized sugar.

➢Banana Wrap with Fillings

○Mashed bananas with chosen fillings that are wrapped in a spring roll wrapper and deep fried in oil with
caramelized sugar.

➢Banana and Peanut Butter Sandwich

○Semi-toasted sandwich spread with mashed bananas and peanut butter.

Market Potential

Currently, Public and Private Schools only have one food provider which is the concessionaire. The
student's only choice is whether to bring their homemade food/biscuits (baon) or buy their food at the
concessionaire. Due to this, if ever Banana Corner is going to be marketed at public and private Schools,
the only competitor would be the current food provider. However, since Banana Corner was built with,
not only the students in our minds but also Filipinos, it would be advisable if the company would have a
market in common public areas like marketplace, parks, grocery stores, or commercial buildings.

These are the marketing and sales strategies that we will use in our current target market. However, with a
larger target market in mind, since our goal is not just to market the banana corner in school but also in
public areas, we also thought of other marketing strategies. Here are other marketing strategies that we
have in mind:

➢Build our website.

○This website would contain information about the business and the products that we are selling.

➢Be active on social media.

○Social media is one of the most convenient ways to reach your customers without spending much.
Banana Corner already has a page on social media, however it is inactive. A larger market would mean
that we should also level up our marketing game.

➢Make more commercials.

○Commercials are also a big help in businesses. We plan to make commercials and post them on our
social media pages to gather attention from the public, mainly from our target customers

numerous trade fairs and businessevents.

●Partnership with an expert in brand/marketing management, Mascy Cabuhat.

●Featured in TV Shows.

■CONS:

●Hard to access social media.

●Limited products to offer.

●Inaccessible to customers. Business information like price list and other things can’t be found
on the internet

Profitability Calculation

Our sales mix will be 22.32% for banana balls, 13.78% for banana pops, 30.49% for banana
sandwiches, 28.59% for banana wraps, and 4.82% for chocolate drinks. To determine the
breakeven point for our business, we identified the following.

Products Units In Pesos

Banana Balls 10 117.85 PHP

Banana Pops 6 60.63 PHP

Banana Sandwich 13 201.23 PHP

Banana Wraps 13 125.80 PHP

Chocolate drink 2 21.21 PHP

Total 14 526.72 PHP

Based on our computation, we will need to sell 44 units of our products to break even. These
projected statements are not reliable since the values given there are just two days due to the
small amount of time spent on the food trade show.
