ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The satisfaction that accompanies the successful completion of this project would be
incomplete without the mention of the people who made it possible, without whose constant
guidance and encouragement would have made efforts go in vain.

I would like to express my thanks to Dr. K Ezhilarasan, Assistant Professor and Head,
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering and
Technology, CMR University, Bangalore, for his encouragement that motivated me for the
successful completion of Project work.

I express my thanks to my Internal Project Guide Dr. Karabi Baruah, Assistant Professor,
Department of Electronics and communication Engineering, School of Engineering and
Technology, CMR University for her constant support.

ABSTRACT

Wipro GE Healthcare manufactures Amplifiers and Power supply for MRI Scanning
Machine. In the assembly of Amplifiers and power supply they make use of IGBT Brick. IGBT
Brick is a combination of two IGBTs. There are four terminals E1, G1, E2 and G2 which are
externally connected to the circuit of amplifiers and power supply. Four terminals have four
connecting cables, they use color code to connect those four cables to the terminals of IGBT
Brick. While connecting they mismatch the color, therefore the terminals not connected to circuit
with proper configuration. The proposed method designs an IGBT cable connection JIG, which
checks the terminal connections. Once the amplifiers and power supply are assembled they are
exported to other branch of GE Healthcare, where the complete assembly takes place. While
export the product they issue CoC(Certificate of Compliance) so that the other branch can
assembly the product for MRI Machine. They issue certificate manually, certificate was
misplaced or damaged during export so they had to refer to the complete assembly details and
issue the CoC Certificate again. As this is time consuming we digitized the CoC Certificate, so
that it will be stored and can be issued whenever required. When the product occurs for rework,
the processing manager should issue the Autopsy Certificate to continue the further processes.
This certificate is issued manually, this would be misplaced. Therefore the further process was
not continued till the certificate is reissued. As this was time consuming for further process, we
digitized the certificate so that it can be stored and the soft can be used as reference of issue and
the further process was continued.
