A quadrilateral is a shape with four sides. There are different types of quadrilaterals including parallelograms, rectangles, squares, rhombi, and trapezoids. The angles of any quadrilateral always sum to 360 degrees. Important properties of quadrilaterals like parallelograms are discussed.

A closed figure having four sides, four angles and four vertices, is called a quadrilateral.
Here, the term ‘ Quad’ means ‘ Four’ and term ‘ Lateral’ means ‘ Sides’ , so that the term
‘ Quadrilateral’ means ‘ a figure bounded by four sides’ .
