1. Backup ECG Data & Export Setting

1.1 Backup ECG Data
Export Setting & Backup Internal ECG Data in advance is necessary when it comes to
software upgrading, in case of booting failure or system collapse.
 Prepare a vacant flash disk whose storage is no more than 8G, format it into FAT32.
 Plug the flash disk into the USB port, enter the “File” interface of ECG machine,
and press “Export All” to export internal data for backup.
 For SE-18, please enter “Archives>>Export” to export internal data for backup

1.2 Export Setting

 Back to Menu and enter “Maintenance” option.
 Choose “Export Settings” option to back up the setting files into flash disk, which
should be restore when you accomplish the whole upgrade procedure.
 For SE-18, please choose “Setup>>Maintenance>>Basic Setup>>Export Setup” to
proceed the backup.

2. Preparation for Upgrade

2.1 Hardware and Software needed:

Flash Disk X1 Upgrade File

(Recommend: 1GB to 8GB)

Note: The Upgrade File is provided by certificates engineers from EDAN service team, file can be
varied according to different requirements.

2.2 USB Formatting

 Please format the USB Flash Disk to FAT32 format in advance and make sure there
is no additional file in the disk.

2.2 Upgrade File Preparation

 Please extract the files package, copy the extracted files to the root directory of USB
Flash Disk.

Note: Please place all upgrade files directly in the root directory of the USB flash drive, instead of
placing them in the folder in the root directory.

 Make sure no other irrelevant files in the Flash Disk.

3. Upgrade Procedure

3.1 Plug-in the Flash Disk

 Plug the Flash Disk with software files into the USB port of ECG machine.

WARNING: Only qualified service personnel is eligible to perform software upgrade.

3.2 Upgrade Procedure for SE-601 Series, SE-12 Series and SE-1201
 Enter the Menu of ECG machine
 Press “F1>>Password: 999999” and get access to the Advanced Setup Menu.
 Choose “Upgrade>>Upgrade All” to proceed the upgrade procedure.

3.3 Upgrade Procedure for SE-18

 Enter the Menu of ECG machine
 Choose “Maintenance>>Advanced Setup>>Password: 999999” and get access to
the Advanced Setup Menu.
 Choose “Upgrade>>Upgrade All” to proceed the upgrade procedure.

3.4 Upgrade Procedure for SE-301

 Enter the Menu of ECG machine
 Press “Advanced Setup>>Password: 999999” and get access to the Advanced Setup
Menu.
 Choose “Upgrade>>Upgrade All” to proceed the upgrade procedure.

3.5 Update Program

 The Upgrade procedure will be initiated automatically, please wait patiently and
make sure the power supply is stable.
 Wait until process done. Then the ECG will reboot itself automatically, which
indicates the upgrade has been successfully done.

4 Self Check and Restore Preset Data

4.1 Check the Device Info

 If the upgrade is successful, the device will boot up normally.
 Please enter the Advanced Setup Menu of ECG machines respectively, choose
“Device Info” and check there current software version.
 If the software version hasn’t been upgraded to expectant version, perform the
upgrade procedures once again.

 Re-plug the Flash Disk with backup files to the ECG machine that has been
upgraded.

4.2 Import the Backup Data for SE-601, SE-12 Series and SE-1201.
 Enter the “File” interface of ECG machine, and press “Import” to import the backup
data.

 Back to Menu and enter “Maintenance” option. Choose “Import Settings” option to
restore the backup setting files from Flash Disk, should be restore when you
accomplish the whole upgrade procedure.

4.3 Import the Backup Data for SE-18

 For SE-18, please enter “Archives>>Import” to import the backup ECG data.
