Prakriti Resources Centre (PRC) is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to sustainable


development and environmental justice in Nepal. Our focus areas include climate change, low-
carbon initiatives, resilience and disaster risk reduction, and environmental sustainability. Through
research, policy interventions, awareness building, and stakeholder capacity development, we
strive to address pressing environmental challenges.

Job Summary

The Project Officer (Climate Finance) will be a full-time member of Prakriti Resources Centre,
reporting to the Programme Manager. They will work within a project team to ensure effective
and timely delivery of project activities, supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and
evaluation processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Lead the delivery of climate finance projects for the organization.


-Support in tracking and maintaining a database on climate finance received and utilized by the
country.
-Assist or lead in the publication of policy briefs, reports, and other knowledge products related
to climate finance.
-Monitor project progress and track expenditures accurately.
-Prepare high-quality reports on project activities.
-Engage and communicate with government stakeholders, NGOs, development partners, and
relevant networks and platforms.
-Represent PRC in pertinent meetings, workshops, conferences, and events as required.
-Support or organize events such as workshops, meetings, trainings, and other related activities.
-Document and maintain records of work on climate finance.
-Collaborate with relevant organizational team members to ensure timely delivery of activities
and outputs.
-Assist in preparing concept notes, generating new ideas, and writing proposals as needed.
Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably Masters) in Economics, Economic Development, Finance, Public


Policy, Climate Change, Development Studies, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in related projects.
• Experience in national budget analysis is essential.
• Previous engagement with NGOs and/or private sector, preferably within the climate or
environment sector.
• Familiarity with engaging Ministry of Finance and/or the Ministry of Forest and Environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong understanding of climate finance, planning, budgeting, and climate change.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with the
organizational team, partners, and government stakeholders.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
• Demonstrated research and reporting abilities.
• Capability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and events.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and social media usage.
• Willingness to travel as required by the job demands.
