Secrets in Their Eyes (Final)
Secrets in Their Eyes (Final)
but just when they think they're finally getting close to the truth, a shocking twist sends
everything spiraling into chaos. As tensions rise and secrets come to light, you won't believe
what you're about to uncover.
A man is searching intensively through the records on his computer, named Ray.
He is carefully looking at a picture and it appears he's discovered the person he is looking for.
As Ray returns to his former workplace, his colleagues warmly greet him acknowledging him as
he walks through the office.
Then he goes up to the DA's office and is greeted by an old colleague, Claire.
As they talk, Ray starts to look serious. He wants to have a private conversation and goes to
close the door, just as someone familiar enters.
We go back to 13 years ago when Ray and Jess were watching terrorist movements at a
mosque. Ray stands up, going to the photo room
Siefert tells Jess and Ray about a murder nearby. Explaining that it's close to the Mosque
they've been watching.
As they arrive at the scene, they are greeted by the police detective. We learn about the details
of the murder. A young girl was killed in a white van, her body bleached inside and out then
thrown into a dumpster.
Ray then proceeds to the dumpster where the body now lies.
Looking Into the dumpster, he is left speechless by the identity of the victim.
He then walks towards Jess, breathing heavily. Ray somberly tells Jess who the victim is. Her
daughter.
Jess hurriedly walks to the dumpster not believing Ray. She looks inside. Jess cries and shouts
in despair climbing in the dumpster to hug her daughter one last time.
We now go back to the present, 13 years later, Ray reveals to Claire and Jess that he has a
new lead to the girl's murder.
Claire points out that Clay's eyes do not match the suspect's. Ray counters by saying that the
man underwent surgery to hide his identity.
Claire goes down to find the case of the murder of Jess’ daughter.
Jess and Ray meet with another old colleague, named Bumpy.
Ray tries to convince Bumpy to help him in this case. The man is unsure, he talks about being in
the background nowadays but still agrees to help.
We go back to 13 years ago, Ray is in Jess’ house, and they go through her daughter's stuff,
finding a photo of their work office picnic.
In one of the photos, Ray spots a young man gazing at the girl.
Ray brings the photo to the office asking everyone if they recognise the man who was at their
office picnic.
No one in the office can identify the man. Ray scans every photo they have taken near the
Mosque hoping to find his identity.
Siefert tells Ray that he is out of line, this kind of work should be given to detectives, and that-
Ray exclaims that he recognised the guy somewhere, and he was right. The man was around
the mosque before
He then enters the boss’ office to request help in investigating this lead to the girl's murder.
The boss asks Ray if the LAPD has this information as well. Ray knows that it may reflect badly
on their office as the guy was seen at one of their events. He wouldn't think of giving this info to
the LAPD.
The boss, a little annoyed, tells Ray to leave the files on his desk, telling Ray to go back to
watching the mosque.
Siefert then storms in revealing that he has a lead. Siefert says that this new lead has just been
taken into the county jail.
Afterward, he angrily meets Siefert in the gym, knowing that the lead is fake.
Surprising Siefert on the gym machine, he pushes the metal bar onto his throat.
Siefert can't breathe, saying that he will tell Ray anything he wants.
The man says that the fake lead was just to point Ray away from someone else.
Siefert cannot have Ray question the real suspect because the man was an undercover
informant at the mosque, which would affect the terrorism unit. The man Ray is hunting is also
an informant for the anti-terrorism division.
He also reveals that this new suspect has a police fantasy, which is why Siefert brought the man
to the office picnic, and why he was in a photo looking at Jess’ daughter.
Siefert adds that he does not know where Marzin is, but Ray can find him.
Ray punches Siefert for being an A-hole and commands him to write everything he knows.
Marzin has a girlfriend who works as a stripper, and her address is passed along.
After they spotted the girl outside the house, they hurriedly barged inside, climbing the gate to
search for clues.
Ray goes into the bedroom where he finds a comic book that was written and drawn by their
suspect, Marzin.
Ray gazes at the comic, flipping through its pages. Bumpy suddenly taps him on the shoulder,
startling him.
As they talk, Marzin’s girlfriend is seen returning.
In a rush, they search for a way out, the dog chasing after them.
At a store, Ray's sticking a bandage on his dog bite, Bumpy mentions that the dog might be
rabid and he’s probably going to die.
Bumpy pulls out the comic book to Ray's disbelief. Ray is angry, knowing that if Marzin finds out,
he will never return to the house.
Even Though, Ray still tries to get the comic from Bumpy.
We go back to the present, Bumpy and Ray are finding pieces of information about their new
lead “Clay” whom they believe to be Marzin’s changed identity.
Bumpy finds out from Clay's parole officer that the suspect likes horses and he talks about them
a lot. This was his other hobby besides stealing cars.
Jess asks Ray about his lead saying that she can see Ray is too obsessed with her daughter’s
case.
Ray reveals his guilt from the day of the murder. He was meant to meet Jess' daughter to
arrange a surprise party for Jess, but he was running late because of work.
We go to another flashback 13 years ago; Claire is waiting for Ray at his desk.
Claire proceeds to present another suspect that the DA has put up.
Ray angrily says that the DA forced this suspect to give a false confession believing that Marzin
is the real criminal.
Jess suddenly approaches unnoticed as they argue. Ray swiftly hides the comic, but Jess
manages to spot it. Curious, Jess questions Ray about what he's holding. Ray attempts to
dodge the question, but Jess remains curious.
One glance at Bumpy confirms to Ray that Jess knows about the stripper's house. Jess directly
asks Ray if the man they are hunting is who killed her daughter.
Ray calmly insists they only know little information. Jess inquires about Marzin's comic book and
wants to see it.
Ray hands the book to Jess, knowing that if she finds out about their lead it would be
dangerous. Jess won't stop until she finds the guy who killed her daughter.
We return to the present, Ray and Bumpy are in a horse racing stadium.
Ray specifically wants to see the stables as Marzin’s horses live there.
Suddenly, Ray realizes that their new lead, Clay, is there with his back turned.
Ray cautiously approaches Clay, calling his attention. He applauds the criminal for the surgery
on his face. Clay looks confused until he sees the police badge, making a run for it.
Ray is quite old and can't easily keep pace with Clay. As the suspect pounces through the door,
Ray is doing his best to catch up.
Rounding the corner, Ray is hit hard in the stomach, forcing him to the ground.
Ray asks the employee if he has seen Clay before. the employee replies that Clay comes in all
the time but strangely looks at the horses.
He asks for the racetrack employee’s phone and inputs his contact.
The employee is instructed to text Ray 911 if Clay shows up there again, Ray will then rush
there in an attempt to catch the suspect.
The boss is in disbelief that they broke inside the fantasy dancer's house without a warrant, and
stole a comic book.
Lecturing the officer, the boss says that no evidence could incriminate Marzin, not even the van
that the girl was killed in.
The boss says that Marzin is important to the office as he provides intel about the potential
terrorist movements around the mosque, so they shouldn't be hunting this lead so hard.
Ray makes his boss promise that if the office finds evidence against Marzin, they will arrest and
charge the man. The boss agrees and the two shake hands.
You now see Ray meeting with Jess and Bumpy in an LA Dodgers bar.
Jess doesn’t like the death penalty as death is an easy way out for Marzin; she would prefer the
bumhole rots in jail.
Ray asks what they are doing there, and Jess says that they are waiting for Marzin.
Jess reveals that all the characters in the comic book have connections to Dodgers players.
Marzin is a huge baseball fan, so waiting at the bar is waiting for Marzin to show up.
Ray and Bumpy attend a baseball game, hoping to find Marzin amongst the crowd.
Ray spots someone up 10 rows, rushing to him, they find it is not their man.
As the crowd is about to get hyped, Marzin is spotted standing, enjoying the energy.
Shouting to Bumpy, Ray races through the chanting crowd, trying to get to Marzin.
Marzin realizes what is going on and runs off before the cops can get to him.
Bumpy runs a different way, alerting stadium security. In the restroom Bumpy checks for Marzin
in every stall.
Slowly opening one of the cubicle doors, Marzin knocks Bumpy and runs out.
Marzin is now cornered by the security and Ray. In his desperation, he jumps over the wall.
Ray finds another way down, finding Marzin gasping for air. They two lock eyes and the chase is
on again. They two go down the stairs. Finding himself cornered like an animal, Marzin runs
back into the crowd.
Ray jumps on the suspect forcing him down hard, securing him with handcuffs. A successful
chase by the young cop.
Back in the office, Claire scolds Ray for his rough way of doing things.
Our cop is now interrogating Marzin, trying to get a confession for the murder of the 18-year-old
girl. Marzin is too slick for Ray, not giving anything up. As Claire enters, she notices Marzin
looking at her with hormone eyes.
Claire now has an idea to get to Marzin. She says that the young girl had damage from a 9-inch
object, and Marzin doesn't have something close to that size.
The suspect is livid, getting up, the gentleman unzips his pants letting his skin flute out.
Marzin is pissed off that his manhood is being challenged, he says that he will beat the lawyer
just like the girl got beat. He punches the woman, with his little boy still swinging around.
Claire stops Ray, saying that Marzin confessed to beating Jess' daughter before he threw the
first punch.
We now see that the DA is very angry that Ray beat their murder suspect and terrorist
informant.
The DA says that this little confession is useless, and they cannot convict on this. He also
believes that prioritizing counterterrorism is more important. He states that Marzin cannot be
touched because he provides valuable information at the mosque.
Ray and Claire see how their efforts are worth nothing.
Marzin enters the elevator grinning at Ray and Claire, knowing that they have nothing that
sticks.
Ray stops the elevator and suggests they should all kill Marzin themselves.
Jess knows that death is an easy escape, she wants him to rot in prison first, then die.
Our cop and lawyer duo now receive some important information. The white van used to kill the
girl has been found. They rush to the location hoping to find new evidence.
Approaching the van, it is up in flames. The hope they had of evidence is literally up in smoke.
Ray implies that the DA probably had something to do with this, implying that he doesn't care
about the murder of one of his own police officers' children.
We return to the present, where Claire and Ray are drinking and reminiscing. Ray receives a
message from the racetrack employee giving them the location of Clay.
He follows Clay, seeing the man entering a stolen car garage. Calling on Bumpy for backup,
Ray enters an alley and follows Clay. Peeking through a broken window, he is smashed in the
back of the head, going unconscious.
Ray wakes up to find Clay asking why he is being followed. Ray explains that he knows Clay is
just the changed identity of Marzin, and he will pay for his crimes. Clay looks on, not
understanding.
Bumpy and Siefert then barge in with guns drawn just in the nick of time. Clay and his crew are
forced to their knees, putting their guns down.
One man from the crew draws a hidden gun, shooting Siefert, making Bumpy fire back.
Bumpy holds Siefert, trying to keep him conscious. Help doesn't arrive soon enough and Siefert
dies in his arms.
Jess enters, calling for backup. After hearing what happened, she still believes that Clay and
Marzin are different people.
After all the excitement, Ray and Claire enter Jess’ house and talk with Jess.
Jess feels extremely guilty after Siefert's death and chooses to reveal the whole truth to Ray
and Claire. She doesn't want to witness Ray being consumed by obsession and other people to
get hurt
According to Jess, Clay, and Marzin are different people. Marzin had died 13 years ago. Jess
was his murderer.
She waited for Marzin at the Dodgers bar for a second time, knowing that eventually he would
return. She snuck up on Marzin at the truck of his car, hitting him on the back of the head.
She packs the unconscious man into the back of her car, bringing him to a secluded train
station. Pulling out a gun, Jess shot the unconscious man in the head.
Jess then says that she took the criminal's body to the back of her house, burying him.
Everyone listening is in disbelief, not imagining that Jess was capable of doing these things.
After Jess’ confession, she says that she will pay whatever punishment. Claire stops her, saying
that she needs a second to think. Ray now takes Claire home and returns to Jess' house for the
last time.
Entering the house silently to check on Jess, he follows her to the back. Jess looks at Ray with
surprise.
Ray is shocked to find the horrible truth. After 13 years this secret was kept. Marzin is not Clay.
Marzin is not dead. Jess has kept her daughter's killer as a prisoner for 13 years.
Ray cannot believe his eyes. Remaining silent, he positions his gun in the corner. His eyes say
that this is too cruel and that Marzin should be killed. Jess seemingly agrees, saying that this
has been going on for too long.
