SCENE #1

NARRATOR: There was a girl named Jane. She was an outstanding student who
excels in class and an amazing daughter to her parents. She was spoiled with love
and attention to both of her parents and gave her everything she wishes for.
Everything went well until she entered middle school. One day when she got
home after a tiring day at school, she was confronted by her parents having a
huge fight.
DAD: WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO MAKE EVERYTHING UP?!
MOM: WHAT DO YOU MEAN I MADE EVERYTHING UP?! A LOT OF PEOPLE SAW
YOU WITH HER!
DAD: WHAT? YOU AND YOUR NONSENSE! NO WONDER YOUR PARENTS
NEGLECTED YOU!
MOM: (SLAPS) YOU’VE CROSSED THE LINE JAMES!
*JANES ENTERS THE ROOM*
KM: MOM? DAD? WHY ARE YOU GUYS SCREAMING
(THERE WAS AN AWKWARD SILENCE IN THE ROOM, JAMES SIGHS AND WALK
OUT)
MOM: HI SWEETY, HOW WAS SCHOOL?
JANE: IT WAS GREAT MOM.
MOM: THAT’S WONDERFUL. YOU SHOULD GET YOUR CLOTHES SINCE DINNER
WILL BE READY SOON.
JANE: OKAY MOM.
(CLOSE ANG CURTAINS)
SCENE #2
NARRATOR: After the argument, her home was filled with gloomy spirit as she
tried to brighten up the room.
(DINING TABLE)
KM: I WAS WONDERING, ARE U GUYS FREE ON THIS WEEKEND?
(SILENCE)
KM: DAD, DO U WANNA WATCH THE MOVIES THIS SUNDAY?
DAD: IM SORRY, SWEETHEART. IM TOO BUSY WITH WORK. I THINK ILL PASS.
(SMILES) BUT YOUR MOM CAN ACCOMPANY YOU.
MOM: YEAH, OF COURSE. BUSY WITH YOUR NEW “LOVER”
DAD: MIKA!
NARRATOR: Jane was filled with despair upon realizing that her parents will never
be the same as before.
SCENE #3
NARRATOR: Before she started high school, her mother remarried and had a son
with her new husband. She experiences anxiety and grief. Knowing she had lost
ties with her parents, she felt miserable. She had stopped taking part in school
activities and her mother had stopped paying attention to her because she was
mainly preoccupied with her half-brother while her father disappeared without a
trace.
(AFTER CLASS)
TEACHER: AHH MISS KOZUME, CAN I HAVE A WORD WITH YOU?
MC: SIR?
TEACHER: What’s wrong with you lately? A lot of teachers had complained to
me about your grades and you haven’t even complied to their school works. You
always come late in my class, that kind of behavior is not tolerable in my
advisory especially that you were one of the role model students here in school.
MC: I am deeply sorry sir; I will do my best to keep up.
TEACHER: The next time I see you, you better pass your activities and study or I
will fail you this semester.
MC: Okay, sir.
SCENE #4
NARRATOR: After that discussion with her teacher, she was instructed to bring
her mother with her to the principal’s office the next day but to her surprise, her
mother didn’t come. That’s when Jane finally realized that her mom never cared
for her anymore. Years had pass, she’s finally on 10th grade. Life is still unfair to
her. As she is inside her untidy room, occupied on her homework, her mother
burst into her room somewhat not pleased.

MOM: What is this?!

MC: Mom, what are you doing here?
MOM: What are you doing instead of cleaning your room? There are still
uncleaned dishes waiting for you downstairs.
MC: Mom, I am doing my homework.
MOM: Do it later, you are already a young lady, you should act like a pleasant
lady yourself! Don’t be lazy around and come downstairs, this instant!
MC: …………………………….
MOM: HURRY!!!
SCENE #5
NARRATOR: Jane felt displeased after her mom scolded her. She's not done with
her homework yet; she's already having trouble pleasing her mom at home. This
went on for many months until she felt the hassle due to overflowing
responsibilities and burden from school and from her mother. One day, when she
was walking to her classroom, she felt tightness on her chest, her eyes started to
get blurry and she started hyperventilating after that she passes out.
RANDOM PEOPLE: Jane!!! (5 times)
NARRATOR: She woke up inside the hospital, feeling confused wondering what
happened. Soon the nurse came in and walked towards her explaining everything.
NURSE: You’re finally awake. Are you feeling all right?
MC: Nurse? What happened?
NURSE: You were found beside your classroom, you’ve passed out. We were
running some tests on you before you woke up and it seems like the reason you
passed out is due to intense emotional stress, dehydration and hunger. Can I ask
a question? When was the last time you ate?
MC: Umm… I can’t seem to remember….
NURSE: I see, so it must have been a while since you took a properly meal. Next
time, you shouldn’t skip meals since this can happen again. Okay?
MC: (nods)
NURSE: (smiles) Okay, the doctor will soon come in a moment. We already
called your mom and the doctor will give her the prescription as soon as
she comes. You should rest more; I’ll be back in a moment.
MC: Is my mother coming? I need her right now.
NURSE: (smiles) don’t worry, she’s going to come soon.

SCENE#6
NARRATOR: She was soon discharged in the evening and was instructed by the
doctor the possible symptoms and remedies, when she walked out the hospital,
she was met by her worried friends and classmates. Analyzing all the faces that
met hers, in hopes to find her mother but to her surprise, her mother didn’t
come.

NARRATOR: She continued living a very distained life, until she stepped foot in
college. She was miraculously offered a good scholarship far away from home, in
which she eagerly accepted.
PSYCHIATRIST: You should focus on healing your mental health from all the
things that happened in the past. It is also important to let your inner child
enjoy the things that she was deprived to have when she was a kid. Be more
mindful of the things you’re doing and the people around you if they helped you
heal from the things you are not healed yet. You should never forget to have
your alone time here and there. And meditate, it’s nice if you’ll also indulge in
yoga.

She followed the doctors’ advice to look for a professional psychiatrist for her
mental stability and later, her life started to take its peak. Life has become very
considerate to her. When she entered college, she gained a lot of friends and
became more confident with herself. Life to her means friends and family who
she can trust her and who she trusts, she is pretty much on the happy side of life
now. She makes her days go by thinking of either what to eat or what she will do
when she gets home on the weekend. She is currently seeing someone but they
don’t often see each other because they go to different schools but they always
figure out how to make time for each other.

One thing she learned through her experience is to never give up on the bad side
of life, never let the people around make you feel disgraced and always be kind to
yourself.
