MESSAGE FOR THE DAY >> 10 MINS

Seeking and saving the lost

“ For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke
19:10 KJV

One of the true marks of a genuine revival is the awakening of a relentless

passion for souls in the heart of a believer. These two cannot be isolated one
from another. When the Lord Jesus walked the earth, He manifested an
insatiable passion for souls, such a mighty passion that led Him as far as
hanging on a cross, where He was crucified also--- for souls. Even today, the
Lord yet lives at the right hand of God making intercession for souls!

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ and He is the Chief Convener,
Originator and Promulgator of every revival. When He moves therefore, He
readily transmits and activates all that Christ is and all that Christ does in a
believer. Thus, a life under the influence of the Holy Ghost would be readily
marked by a strong desire to lead others to Christ and plant them in God.

Seeking and saving the lost involves the work of interceding in prayer,
preaching the gospel and and deploying diverse strategies to reach the lost
just like Jesus did. In scriptures, we see the Lord connecting with individuals,
groups ans crowds at different levels, to save them. From sitting in Simon
Peter's fishing boat, to visiting Zacheus, to sparking a conversation witt the
woman by the well, and answering nicodemus questions in the middle of the
night, the Master was set on seeking and saving. From feeding 5,000 and
healing several sick, and inviting tax collectors , doctors, fisher men to His
'church' to fish men, He employed every means at His disposal and as
directed by the Spirit, to seek and save souls from eternal damnation.

It behoves us today to do nothing less than our Master has, as our generation
awaits the flames of the same Christ in us, from the streets, to our schools
and campuses, to social media and work place, the Lord has sent us forth,
just as the Father sent Him.

John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my
Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

2 Cor. 5:18-19 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to
Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of
reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to
Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the
word of reconciliation
