This material is often used to wrap goods or food. The basic materials are cheap, easy to process, elastic, not easily torn and durable, making many people choose plastic as packaging. However, despite the many advantages of using plastic, there are also many losses caused by the waste produced. — Argument One of the most common disadvantages we encounter is that the waste is very difficult to decompose. If one by one people in this world use plastic, imagine how much plastic waste will accumulate. According to 2018 World Bank data, 87% of coastal cities in Indonesia contributed marine waste, including plastic, amounting to 1.72 million tons. The first danger of plastic waste to the environment is that it covers the food chain. Because plastic can damage the environment and of course affect small organisms, such as plankton. Starting from affecting small organisms, plastic waste can eventually end up in the stomachs of humans as top predators. — Argument Then, plastic waste also causes land pollution. When plastic is thrown into the trash, it interacts with the air and forms dangerous chemicals. These chemicals will later seep in and harm the soil. Apart from that, chemicals can also reduce air quality. Not only soil pollution, plastic can also cause air pollution. Burning plastic in the open air causes the release of toxic chemicals that pollute the air. Then, polluted air can of course threaten the health of humans and the animals that breathe it. — Conclusion Based on the facts above, it can be concluded that plastic waste can cause harm to the environment and living creatures. For example, damaging the food chain and causing pollution. language features Simple Present tense. A focus on one issue. conjunctions to show logical relation between arguments presented.
