Grade 7 SMP Dian Harapan Daan Mogot

2023 – 2024

No Question + Answer Key

1. Find the value of each angle of the following triangles.
a. b.

ANSWER:
a. 45o + (3x + 6) + (2x – 1) = 180o → All triangles have interior angles that add up to 180º
45o + 5x + 5o = 180o
5x + 50o = 180o
5x = 130o
x = 26o
So, the angles are 45o, 3(26o) + 6 = 84o , and 2(26o) – 1 = 51o.

b. (2x – 7) + (4x + 3) + 2x = 180o → All triangles have interior angles that add up to 180º
8x – 4 = 180o
8x = 184o
x = 23o
So, the angles are 2(23o) – 7 = 39o , 4(23o) + 3 = 95o, and 2(23o) = 46o

2. Find the value of each angle with the reason from the picture below.

>

>

ANSWER:
• ao + 82o = 180o → consecutive interior angles
ao = 180o – 82o = 98o
• bo + 65o = 180o → Supplementary angles
bo = 180o – 65o = 115o
• co + 82o + 65o = 180o → All triangles have interior angles that add up to 180º
co = 180o – 147o = 33o

3. A Christmas tree is shaped like an isosceles triangle. If the angle at the top is 42°,
find the size of each of the base angles.
ANSWER:
Let one of the base angles is x.
42o + 2xo = 180o → All triangles have interior angles that add up to 180º
2xo = 180o – 42o
xo = 69o
4. Dinda built a kite. If the angle at the top of the kite is three times more than the
angle at the tail, and the angles on the side are 80°, find the angle at the tail.

ANSWER:
80o + 80o + xo +3xo = 360o → All quadrilaterals have interior angles that add up to 360º
160o + 4xo = 360o
4x = 360o – 160o
x = 50o

5. A quadrilateral has two equal angles. The other two angles measure 70° and 30°. What is the size
of the equal angles?
ANSWER:
Let the angle is x.
70o + 30o + 2xo = 360o → All quadrilaterals have interior angles that add up to 360º
100o + 2xo = 360o
2x = 260o
x = 130o

6. Find the value of each angle with the reason

from the picture below. ACDE is a trapezium.
QA // DR (QA parallel line with DR) and
ED // AC (ED parallel line with AC). Find:
a. < PEQ
b. < EDR
c. < BCD
ANSWER: S
a. < PEQ
< ABE = 90O
< AEB = 180O – 53O – 90O = 37O → All triangles have interior angles that add up to 180º
< PEQ = 37O → Vertically opposite with < AEB.

b. < EDR
<QED = < EAB = 53O → Corresponding angles
< EDR + < QED = 180O → Consecutive interior angles
< EDR = 180O – 53O = 127O

Alternative answer:
Extend the line RD, thus there is a new straight line named RDS.
< EDS = 53O →Alternate Interior with < EAB
< EDR = 180O – 53O = 127O → Supplementary angles (with < EDS)

c. < BCD
< EDC = 360O – 126O – 127O = 107O → full rotation angle is 360O
Look at trapezium BCDE
< BCD = 360O – 90O – 90O – 107O = 73O → Total interior angles in trapezium is 360O

Alternative answer:
< CDS = 180O – 126O = 54O → Supplementary angles
< DSC = 53O → Corresponding with < EAB
< BCD = 180O – 53O – 54O = 73O → All triangles have interior angles that add up to 180º
