Introduction
 This Seminar activity is a part of continuous internal assessment (theory),
 Carries total 15 marks, will be counted in internal marks
 Zero marks will be counted for those who will remain absent or come
unprepared

What to do & how to do?
 Each parameter should cover following points in few lines precisely & to the
point:

o Diagnostic significance
 Prepared on your own by using standard textbook
 Please respect originality, do not copy from others…
 Here example of vitamin D is given, prepared as per above heading
Name of test: Serum Vitamin D3
Physiological role: Help in Bone mineralization
Maintenance of calcium level,
Also considered as hormone now a days, diverse role
Biological reference range: 30 to 100 ng/ml in blood
Diagnostic significance: To find out vitamin D status of body
<30 ng/ml – deficiency – Rickets, Osteomalacia
Common Causes: Nutritional deficiency, chronic kidney disease, chronic
liver disease, genetic etc
>100 ng/ml – Toxicity, rare
