1. What is the RAM?

A RAM (Random Access Memory) is another type of memory other than the hard
drive that stores data that is actively working on, which is faster than always retrieving
the data from the hard drive.

2. What is the Hard disk used for in a computer? And What is the recent type of hard disks
that are not magnetic?

The Hard Disk , or Hard Drive, is a circular magnetic disc that hold data of the
computer.

3. What are the zeros and ones when we refer to data being processed by computers?

The 0 and 1’s are used for the high and low voltage states.

4. What is the binary equivalent of the number 29 (Zeros and Ones))?

29 = 1 x 24 + 1 x 23 + 1 x 22 + 0 x 21 +1 x 20
= 11101

5. What is an Operating System? What are the names of commonly used operating
systems?

The Operating System is the main software program that handles the configuration of
hardware components and coordinates the execution of all programs on the hardware.
Examples of commonly used operating systems are Microsoft Windows, Macs OS, and
Android (in mobile phone).
6. What is an IP address?

An IP address, called a logical address, identifies devices on a network and can assign
multiples addresses to the same device if that same device is communicating on 2
networks.

7. What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a piece of information containing a unique ID for a user of a web

application, or website, that allows the web application to track a user.

8. What is a VPN?

A VPN, Virtual Private Network, is a computer network that is part of a secure

environment where the computers communicate in a private without exposing the data
to computers outside the network.

9. What is HTTPS?

The HTTP, Hypertext Transfer Protocol, is the standard used by the web browser to
communicate with the computer that hosts the website. The HTTPS, where the S stands
for security and guarantees 1) client receiving data from the expected server, and 2)
encrypted data, is the protocol of communication between a web browser and a server
replacing the HTTP protocol

10. Have you built a diagram before? For which type of data, give an example? If not,
answer based on the diagrams you usually encounter in your studies.

Yes, I’ve already built a diagram before, mostly bar diagrams, for science classes
where data would show change in ml (milliliters) to increase/decrease in temperature,
pressure, and volume.

11. What is a concept Map?

A concept map is a diagram or an information graphic that shows concepts and the
relationships between the concepts.
