INTRODUCTION :
On 23 January 2023 , Organized an Educational field visit to ‘ MGM
COLLEGE OF NURSING’ and ‘MAHARASHTRA NURSING COUNCIL ‘ at
Mumbai . we are 25
students of MSc. Nsg.1st year and 2nd year along with our teachers Mrs.Sheetal
Barde mam and Mr.Pratik sir .

AIM:
To know the functioning of the Nursing education centre.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To become familiar with the history of establishment of the institute.
2. To be aware of the organogram and the staffing pattern of the institute.
3. To know the courses conducted in the college of nursing.
4. To know the information of the hostel facilities.
5. To understand the Mission, philosophy, aim, and objective of the institution.
6. To understand the activities of the curriculum planning, implementation and
evaluation.
7. To interchange the ideas, learning experiences with the MSc (Nsg) students.
8. To know the information about admission criteria of the nursing students.
VISION
MGM Institute of Health Sciences aims to be a top ranking centre of Excellence
in Health Science Education, Health Care and Health Research .

MISSION
Students graduating from the Institute will have the required skills to
deliver the quality health care to all the sections of the society with
compassion and benevolence, without prejudice or discrimination at
an affordable cost. Students graduating from the Institute will have

PHILOSOPHY
The faculty believes that,

o the value of human life, the inherent worth of the


individual and the attainment of a high standard of
health as the right of every individual. The discipline
of nursing is concerned with individual, family, and
community and their responses to health andillness
within the context of the changing health care
environment.

o education provides students with opportunities to


develop habit of critical and constructive thought so
that they can make discriminating judgments in their
search for truth. This type of intellectual development
can best be attained in a teaching- learning
environment which fosters sharing of knowledge,
skills and attitudes as well as inquiry toward the
development of new knowledge. The faculty and

teacher as the facilitator and the students responsible
for their own learning.

CODE OF CONDUCT
o Students should maintain silence in the classroom, library
and other rooms and in the corridors when lectures are in
session.
o Students should take every effort to take care of the
college and hospital property and should help to
maintain it. They should not scribble or write on the
tables, chairs and walls.
o Any damage to the property of the college and hospital
will be dealt with as breach of discipline and he/she will
be fined and item should be replaced.
o If a student is required to get leave from the college or
hospital in the middle of the day for an emergency, the
student must get approval sanctioned from her class
teacher or a supervisor and a letter must be produced
from the parent/guardian.
o All decisions taken by the Director are final.
o Greet the authorities in the college and hospital
premises.
o Parents or guardians must meet the Director whenever
they are called.
o Both parents and guardians are required to put their
specimen signature in the presence of the class teacher
in the beginning of the academic year.
o All required assignments needs to be completed and
submitted on time. Marks will be deducted and
necessary action will be taken for late submission.
o Lunch break will be of half hour.
o Daily attendance in college and clinicals are
compulsory. Attendance would be taken at the beginning
and end of the day. If the attendance is not fulfilled as
per the requirements, the students will not be allowed for
final examination.
o Absenteeism and leave should be informed prior.
o Students are not allowed to go outside of college
premises during the college hours.
o Bunking of lectures is not allowed

All programmes conducted by the college are under MGM Institute of Health
Sciences, recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi and
Maharashtra Nursing Council (MNC), Mumbai.

TEACHING, LEARNING AND EVALUATION


The Academic Calendar is given to the students to have an
overview whole academic year. Any change in the schedule is
communicated and displayed on the notice board. Students are
instructed to update themselves on regular basis. One academic
Calendar is planned for 52 weeks per year for each programme.
• Working hours: Theory/ Clinical - 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Library Timings - 8:30 AM – 6.00 PM

Weekly time-table of theory, practical, co-curricular & extra-


curricular sessions will be displayed at the respective notice
board on every weekend. Students are instructed to update

Ongoing evaluations are carriedout throughout the year.
1) Internal assessment is calculated from all the
assignments allotted throughout theyear.
2) The University main exams are in the month of
July and supplementary exams inthe month of
September
3) Minimum pass marks shall be 50% in each
of the theory and practical papersseparately.
4) A candidate must have of 80% attendance in theory
and practical in each subject forappearing the exam.
A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the practical areas before
theaward of the degree.
