2. What did Mrs Chhabra buy?

Ans. Mrs Chhabra bought two kilos of Potatoes.

3. Why did Rahul came into the shop?

Ans. Rahul came into the shop to tell Mr. Bansal that two men took a box of
apples from his van.

4. Why was Mr Bansal angry with Rahul?

Ans. Mr. Bansal was mad at Rahul because he didn’t tell him about the stolen
apples earlier.

1. Why was Arnav happy?


Ans. Arnav was happy because it was Saturday, his school is closed, and his
mother promised to take him shopping.

2. What did Mrs Bansal tell Arnav to do?


Ans. Mrs. Bansal told Arnav to bring his friend Raju to their evening school as
other children like Raju study there.

3. Why did Arnav want to help Raju?


Ans. Arnav wanted to help Raju because Raju couldn’t go to school since his
father was a gardener.

4. Why did Raju say, “This is one of the best gifts anyone could have given
me?”
Ans. Raju said this is one of the best gifts because Arnav’s help let him go to
school.

D. Answer the following questions: -

1. The poet was unhappy. How did someone help him?

Ans. Someone helped the poet by giving him money.

2. What did the poet do afterwards? Mention three things he did?

Ans. The poet gave back the gold to the rich man, thanked him and blessed his
charity.

3. What did the poor man do?

Ans. The poor man helped the poet by taking care of his hurt head, giving him
food, and looking after him all the time.

4. The poor man’s help was greater than gold. Why?

Ans. This is so because the poet believed he could give back gold from a rich
man, but he couldn’t ever repay the kindness and care shown by the poor man.

E. Answer the following questions: -

1. Why did Jacky not want to hunt with his friends?

Ans. Jacky didn’t want to hunt with his friends because he thought he worked
hard for the hunt and didn’t want to share his food.

2. Why did Jacky not see the street dogs?

Ans. This is so because he was thinking about the fat hen and how delicious it
would be to bite into it.

3. Why did Jacky banish his brethren and other jackals from the forest?

Ans. This is so because he didn’t want to disclose his secret.

4. How did the other animals come to know that Jacky was a jackal?

Ans. The other animals came to know when Jacky howled and the tiger guarding
him heard the sound and told the other animals.
