Dialogue 1
Doctor: Come in and sit down. What’s the trouble?

John: Doctor, I had a bad cough and a sore throat.

Doctor: Do you have a fever?

John: I don’t know. But I feel terrible.

Doctor: First let me take your temperature.

John: Okay.

Doctor: Don’t worry. You are just having a bad cold. Go home to bed

and take one of these pills every six hours. You’ll be fine soon.
John: I got it. Thank you.

Doctor: Drink more water and get a good rest.

John: I will. Thanks again.


Dialogue 2
Mike: Hello, doctor.
Doctor: What’s wrong with you?
Mike: I have a backache.
Doctor: Do you often suffer from the backache?
Mike: No, I never had one before.
Doctor: How long does it last for?
Mike: Almost four days.
Doctor: Let me see. Well, go home and get some rest in bad. It’s not a
big deal.
Mike: Can you give me some medicine? It’s really painful.
Doctor: Okay. Take one pill a time and three times a day. If you still feel
bad in four days, come back again.
Mike: Thank you.
Dialogue 3
Doctor: Hi, what’s wrong?
Jane: I feel unwell and keep vomiting all the time.
Doctor: How long have you felt like this?
Jane: Nearly two days. It started just before going to bed the day
before yesterday.
Doctor: Let me examine you. I will press on your stomach to see if it
hurts and then listen to your heart.
Jane: Ok. It doesn’t hurt when you press my stomach. I just feel tired.
Doctor: Ok. Did you eat anything different from usual before you
started to feel this way?
Jane: Yes my husband cooked dinner for me. He isn’t a very good cook
and the food tasked a bit strange.
Doctor: You’ve got food poisoning. It is not very serious and you
should be better in another day.
Jane: Oh dear, what should I do.
Doctor: You need to drink lots of water and get plenty of rest.
Jane: Ok, thank you doctor.
Doctor: You’re welcome. If you are not better in 48 hours come and
see me again.
Dialogue 4
Patient: Good evening Doctor!

Doctor: Good Evening. How can I help you?

Patient: I am suffering from headache since morning.

Doctor: Have you taken any medicine?

Patient: Yes doctor but still not getting better.

Doctor: You have a running nose. Your headache could be a result of

sinus infection. Let me check it.


Patient: Is it something serious doctor?

Doctor: I think sinus infection is the cause of your headache. It’s not a

regular headache. Don’t worry I am prescribing some medicines. Take

the medicines regularly. You’ll get better soon.

Patient: Thank you Doctor.

Doctor: Visit me after one week for a checkup.

Patient: Okay doctor.
