Solution. . .
 Calculate their averages.
 Find the differences of each of the
values from the mean (called deviations
or Dx and Dy). Now find the product of
these differences. Now find the average
of these differences.
 We get -3.375 and correlation is -.85 as
the answer.

1. Calculate averages
2. Find Dx and Dy
3. Find standard deviations by taking square
root of sum of squares of Dx and Dy.
4. Find covariance
5. Divide covariance by product of standard
deviations to get correlation. Covariance is
30.75 and correlation is .994 answer.

 Material cost = 80 * 15 = 1200
 Labour cost = 40 * 15 = 600
 Fixed exp = 20 *24 = 480
 Depreciation=10 * 24 = 240
 Total cost of production =2520
 Less closing stock finished goods: (1/15 *2520) = 168
 Cost of goods sold =2352
 Add: selling exp =
 Variable selling exp. 8*15 = 120
 Fixed selling exp = 2*24 = 48
 Total cost of sales = 2520

Sales = 200 *14 = 2800

Profit (sales – cost) = 2800 – 2520 = 280 answer.
