1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to details the process how materials/products are handled, stored and
delivered in a controlled manner to prevent damage and deterioration within ASBM Industrial PLC.
2. SCOPE
This procedure is applicable on handling, storage and delivering of all materials/products of ASBM
Industrial PLC.

4. PROCESS OWNER
Finance and Supply Department is responsible for the effective implementation of this document.
Materials: All raw materials, ingredients and other goods which are listed under document and available at
specified period and place, also that can be put in use.
Storage: a place where all materials such as purchased products, raw materials (ingredients) packaging
materials etc. are being kept.
Equipment: a machine or instrument which is used for production purpose, for locomotion or else for
welding whereas installed in the plant.

1 The materials delivered could be purchased items (Consumables, Stationary etc) , used
materials that needs storage and protection from deterioration until it is supplied to the end user
2 The materials upon arrival to the stores shall be inspected, weighed, counted, monitored,
measured and recorded. In the inspection of the purchased materials: -
- As per the required specification
- Labeling
- Expiry date
- Quantity
- Packaging
- Spare parts
- Fulfillment of accessories
If the material purchased found to be unacceptable. It shall be rejected and reasons for
rejections shall be recorded
During evaluation of the material request the following points shall be taken into consideration
- Purpose of the material
- Value of the material
- The need of material
- Safety consideration
3 Before receiving the product, the storage area is prepared, checked and inspected so that there is
enough and appropriate space for the material.
4 Goods Receiving Note (GRN) is prepared and the material received.
5 The materials are arranged and stacked in accordance with stacking requirement in such a way
that FIFO system is applicable.
6 The materials are stored and protected from any damage as far as it is under store's custody and
occasionally inspected and necessary measures are taken.
7 The customer (if any) and the purchase initiator shall be informed for the new arrivals of the
materials.
8 All materials in the store shall be handled and stored in accordance with materials handling and
storage in order to detect deterioration, condition of the item in stock shall be assessed at
appropriate interval and computer for balancing into computer/record before delivery/sales
The safe handling of products into and out of the store and maintenance of records relating to such
movements.
The occupational health and safety of the operational staff
The training of the staff and personnel
The protection of the environment
Planning of procedures
7. RECORDS
The storekeeper shall be responsible for keeping the following records
Filled item request form
Filled purchase order form
Filled receiving form
Filled store issue voucher
