YEAR 7 - Spring Project Based Assessment - Geography – 2024

You will research your country (where you are from or where you identify with). You can collect all your information
and images, make a collage to create your Poster.

You must include the following information:

1. 3.1 Physical geography of your country: At least two physical features and details about them. (10%)

2. 3.2 History: What is something interesting about your country's history? You could share with us
historical facts, tourist attractions tied to history, interesting stories about your country or you can show us
what your Country’s flag looks like and the meaning behind it etc. Location - Where is the country located.
Tell us about any boarders in or around your country. What are the neighbouring countries. (15%)

3. 3.3 Weather: What is the weather like in your country? Tell us about the seasons and climate – is there
lots of snow? Rain? or where the warmer regions and the colder regions of your country are. (5%)

4. 3.4 Who you are: Your family's story. Tell us about your grandparents, parents, yourself... your story.
Where were you born, where are your parents / grandparents from. Do they have a great story to share
that you can tell us about – share with us your story! (10%)

5. 3.5 Populations: think of where you live. Is it densely populated? Is it a rural (country) area or an urban
(city) area? What is the population of your country? (10%)

6. 3.6 What is your country known for? Sports? Food? Famous people / inventions / music? (10%)

7. 3.7 Tell us about the capital of your country. Is there a reason for its name? Something interesting about
the capital? What would you recommend to a person wanting to visit your capital or your country – what
should they see / do? (10%)

8. 3.8 Finally, what is your countries link to the wider world. Share an example (it could be Trade, Transport,
Communication etc.) (10%)

9. Bonus: Current Events - Are there any recent news or development that are relevant to the country?

The poster text, size and pictures (20%) should be:

• a poster size A2 = four x A4 / Notebook size paper - full of the above information with pictures
• Pictures can be printed or hand-drawn, colourful and exciting.
• Information which you include on your poster must be accurate and not copy-paste from wikipedia or non-
credible sources. The country poster will be done at home.
• All text must be hand-written on your poster
