Diplomate in Reproductive & Child Health (DRCH)

The course is for one year and eligibility is BHMS, BUMS, BAMS with completion of
internship.

There is no admission test and FG and institution are advised to undertake a thorough
counselling with the candidate. The duty hours and responsibility of the student should
be clearly told and stipend (Remuneration) should be adequate as prevalent in the city
of training.

Session I : 1st June to 30th May (one year)

Session II : 1st December to 30th November (one year)

DRCH qualified doctors must know how to diagnose aforesaid topics of Obs & Gyn,
render basic treatment and to refer at the appropriate time. They should not go beyond
their jurisdiction and should not treat cases which they are not conversant of
Requirements for the course
• Candidate must possess a digital camera along with other medical teaching aids during his
duties in the hospital.
• Must possess a valid email address and access to regular internet for academic exercises.
• Following A, B, C & D are provided from HQ as case note set.

A. Daily Diary (DD)


Candidate must write Daily Diary on regular basis about daily ward rounds, important OPD and
indoor patients and their progress, any interesting case seen and other relevant investigations
undertaken for patients. Students have to fix patient’s photo while examining and operating.
Minimum 50(fifty) photographs per year are mandatory.
THIS DAILY DIARY HAS TO BE SIGNED BY FELLOW GUIDE EVERY WEEK WITH DATE.

B. SPIRAL BOUND OBSTETRICS CASE RECORD BOOK & GYNAECOLOGY CASE RECORD BOOK
SET
Candidate completes these Spiral bound book set by writing in detail 10 cases each and send it to
HQ or Lucknow examination centre (for UP students only) as per the Calendar of Events.
Out of 10 obs cases five must be vaginal deliveries with partography done by candidate. In obs
clinical case notes you have to fix photos of pregnant patients with height, weight, BP checking,
abdominal grips, listening to FHS; in Gyn cases, abdominal lump examination. All the above
clinical cases are written on standard format as in Dawn text books.
This case record books are checked and a case record clearance card (CRCC) is sent to
candidates which has to be produced during Practical Examination.
Comments and corrections by the Registrar in the checked books ‘B’ should be suitably
implemented in the next book‘C’.

10 cases to be written in each case notes like previous spiral set ‘B’ and to be carried to the
Practical Examination Hall.

D. Question – Answer Copy and Operative Note Copy provided. Detail answers of 15 Obs and 15
Gyn questions are written with colour diagrams, corrected, signed by FG. Also write operative
steps of 10 Obs and 10 Gyn surgical procedures (attach extra pages as required) and carry it to
the Practical examination Hall.
NB. : Each set of case note (A,B,C,D) is to be procured from Head Quarter at the beginning of
academic session

CALENDAR PROGRAMME
• Student had to distribute per year 20 “Dawn Rule Of Ten” Adolescent Pictorial Calendars in
regional language to adolescent patients and neighbouring schools (boys & girls); permission from
Head of the institution is mandatory. Student had to distribute per year 20 DAWN “Rule of ten” life
style pictorial calendars to his/her patients. Programme best carried out during rural camps as
well as urban areas and in own hospitals. Further 20 Dawn Rule of Ten Antenatal Calendar to be
distributed to Antenatal patients. Total 60 calendars are to be distributed in one year. (To be
ordered from HQ – give your preference of language).

How to complete formalities for examination


• Complete Case Note set ‘B’ and send to HQ as per the Calendar of Events and wait for the
‘CRCC’ to arrive.
• Carefully fill up the Training Completion Certificate (TCC) available in Website and get it signed
by your Fellow Guide, attach your photo, photocopy of Case Record Clearance card (CRCC) and
send it to HQ, Kolkata. Candidate will be issued the Admit Card for the Examination from HQ.

You must carry the following items to the Practical Examination Hall.
• Daily Diary (DD) checked and countersigned by the Fellow Guide with dates.
• Original Clearance Card (CRCC) for set ‘B’ and 2nd set (Set ‘C’) of 10 Obs / Gyn Case Notes.
• Completed written answers
