Field Prep 1- LinkedIn Profile (Individual)


Field preparation activities are essential for your professional engagement and development for
a successful sales career. The primary purpose of these marked activities (assignments) is to
prepare for the tasks and expectations in a selling environment by practicing the skills typical to
a future sales role.

Why is LinkedIn Important? Creating a personal and professional brand presence is extremely
important for sales and marketing practitioners, as it promotes credibility and trust with
customers and the marketplace.

A well designed and robust LinkedIn profile can provide future employment opportunities,
facilitate professional network growth and sales lead generation. Learners are encouraged to
cultivate activities and tactics to continuously improve their external professional profiles to
enhance their individual goal attainment strategies.

Assignment Instructions

1. Create (or update, if already created) a personal LinkedIn Profile with the following
profile elements:
a. Full name (with proper capitalization).

b. Profile picture, specifically a good headshot.


i. Only the learner should be in shot, no friends, animals or props (i.e.,
phones, devices, flags, etc.)
ii. Consider a professional portrait setting. No situational photos. (i.e.,
behind the steering wheel of a car, etc.)
iii. Consider presenting professional business attire for the shot. No hats,
sunglasses, or “hard to see” backgrounds”.

c. Update complete educational history:


i. Properly spell out your programs currently enrolled.
ii. Give attention to capitalization of proper nouns.

d. Include at least one prior work experience position.

e. Add relevant micro credentials that you have received in past courses. I.e.
LinkedIn Learning certificates, HubSpot certifications, etc.

f. Review and proofread your profile information for spelling and accuracy.

2. Follow the company Canadian Professional Sales Association.

3. Subscribe to Full Funnel Freedom Newsletter.

4. Connect with 5 other class colleagues.

5. Send an invitation to connect with your course instructor (optional).

6. Submit the URL for your profile to D2L by due date.
