Project Title Little Shop of Horrors

Section 1: Review
During these past eleven units I have grown a lot, I feel that I am more able in devising and a lot more
confident in sharing my ideas. I have a lot more confidence in my singing as that is something I’ve
always wanted to improve. I am also a lot more independent and am more able to start projects
independently. This course also taught me how to channel my passion and wild energy into a healthy
outlet. These will help me with my goals as I am going to Drama School for musical theatre, so I want to
be highly passionate and energized to get through the three years. I chose this course because I
wanted to learn more about the acting industry and learn more independence because I feel like I’ve
achieved those goals I wanted to move on and get more of a technical training in Musical Theatre to
become a triple threat.

Section 2: Project Concept

For our Final Major Project we are doing the musical Little Shop of Horrors, the aims of this project is to
make a good musical that is entertaining and a reimagining of the source material. I think that the type
of resources we need is studios to rehearse in that have plenty of space, a musical director, scripts and
money for props. When rehearsing I’ll make sure to record all of my harmonies so that I’m able to
rehearse through them at home. What I want to achieve in this Final Major Project is to improve on my
singing abilities especially in a musical sense because I need a strong stamina to sing and dance. I also
want to improve on my theory work as that was something that brought my marks down last time and I
hope that I could get better at putting down my thoughts on paper.

Section 3: Evaluation
The way I intend to evaluate my work is by recording all of my sessions on my notes app and doing
weekly reflection videos. I want to make sure that I can improve by listening to my singing and taking
note of all the corrections the musical director. Working in collaboration with others will impact my
progress positively as I can bounce ideas off of them and they can help with anything I might find
confusing. As I am chronically ill working on things independently is going to be quite tricky so to combat
this I’m going to try and preserve my energy as best as I can during times of relaxation and rely on my
peers to help with that.

Project Action Plan and Timetable

We warmed up playing the Elephant Nothing yet

26/02/24 game and then we went through the
song the Meek Shall Inherit going
through the harmonies. Then we did
singing auditions, I was told to sing
Grow For Me and Mushnik and Son. Then
we did an acting workshop to audition, I
mostly auditioned for Seymour but I did
read for Audrey in one go. On
Wednesday we did puppetry which
helped with inspiration for Audrey Two
We did a cast read through and the street Script
02/03/24 urchins went through Little Shop of
Horrors, Skid Row and Da Doo.

We did a lot of movement, we devised a Script

11/03/23 little bit of Little Shop of Horrors as the
Urchins while everyone else did Don’t
Feed The Plants. Then we looked at the
movement of Audrey Two, we first
choreographed by ourselves using a
technique with card tricks then we got
into partners and taught each other our
movements then we got into groups and
created a group piece which we then
 combined with the entire group to create
a mass of organized chaos. We then
looked at how Audrey Two eats so we
split into groups and with lots of props
like fabrics, ribbons and such like, we
then combined some of them. We then
created an image of Audrey Two with
fabric stretching out everywhere from
them.
We did some more singing for the street Script
18/03/24 urchins. We sang Ya Never Know and
The Meek Shall Inherit. We discussed the
opening of our play with the Street
Urchins and the scene just before Meek
Shall Inherit. On Wednesday we
discussed costume and the idea that the
Urchins are dressed from different eras.
We also looked at some choreography
for Meek Shall Inherit and the Audrey’s
worked on Suppertime/Sominex
We did a lot of movement for Meek Script
25/03/24 Shall Inherit, Skid Row and Closed
for Renovation by splitting into
groups and doing a line of
choreography and then putting that
together. We sang through the Meek
Shall Inherit and watched the other
castmates perform songs like
Mushnik and Son, Feed Me and
Suppertime. We then sung a bit of
Closed For Renovation and Suddenly
Seymour. On Wednesday we talked
about our Urchin characters sung
our songs, meek shall inherit and
suppertime, we also went through
the script and divided up the lines
15/04/24 On Monday we warmed up, then we sang Script
through Little Shop of Horrors and Skid
Row. We then looked at set design and
costumes in a zoom meeting. We then
had lunch. We sang through Ya Never
Know, Suppertime, Dentist and Finale
(both acts) we did a run through up until
Ya Never Know, it was not the best but it
was fun.

On Tuesday we went through Skid

Row and Little Shop, we then had a
fire drill :/. After that we went through
the prologue scene with the
Ronettes. We then went onto Dentist
where we learned the choreography
and then we went through the scene
before Skid Row.
 On Wednesday we worked on Dentist
choreography. The Ronettes then
sang through all of their songs. Then
we did a stagger through up until
Closed For Renovation, after that we
worked on the scene with the Dentist
and Ronettes

On Thursday I wasn’t in until two to

do a full stagger through of act 1.
That was all we did on Thursday.

On Friday we had our movement

director Sophie in so we all learned
the choreography for Little Shop,
Skid Row and Ya Never Know. We
then went through Dentist.
22/04/24 On Monday we went through Script
movement for Little Shop, Skid Row,
Ya Never Know and Dentist. After
lunch we went through harmonies for
the songs and added it to movement
which was hard. We then did a
stagger through of act two. Then,
while Seymour, Audrey and Audrey
Two rehearsed a scene everyone else
went to practice harmonies. I ended
up having a meltdown due to
overstimulation and illness.

On Tuesday we spent the morning

doing movement for Closed for
Renovation and Da Doo after lunch
we put movement to Meek Shall
Inherit and then cleaned up Skid
Row.

On Wednesday I was in at two to do a

whole stagger through of act two, we
then spoke through Don’t feed the
plants with our intentions and story.

On Thursday I led the warmup,

people commented how it was a very
dance warmup. We then worked
through act 1, working on the details
and the transitions and where we are
in the wings. After lunch instead of
doing detail work in act two we did a
stagger through, while slightly
staging some of act two
On Friday we had tutor with Kris
which was just a check in. We then
went into rehearsing all the
movement since we had our
movement director in. When Sophie
was working on movement for
Audrey Two everyone else worked
through their own stuff, I was
working on my characterisation. We
also had costume fittings after lunch.

Script
On Monday we did a stagger through
and went over any details, in the
afternoon we did a miscasting run
through

On Tuesday we did call back in the

morning and did a lot of complicated
choreography for it, we then went
through act 1 to work on intentions.

On Wednesday we were in at two

but because we didn’t have Lydia we
couldn’t do much so we did a stagger
through.

On Thursday we mostly did character

detail with James Moore that was
really hard then watching the 1st yr
shows

On Friday we did an act two run

through as it’s a little under-
rehearsed, then we did the dentist
scenes

Monday we weren’t in Script

On Tuesday we mostly went through

the choreography with the songs so
that we would sound better.

On Wednesday we did detail work

for all of the scenes
On Thursday we did more detail
work for act two while also having
costume fittings, we then had a run
through

On Friday we did a run through and

then cleaned up any details we were
confused about
