OF INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY

KRISHTI GUCHHAIT
COLLEGE ROLL NO. : 2023059
COURSE :BCA,1ST YEAR.
SUBJECT : GE BASKET(GRAPHICS).
SUBJECT CODE : GE2B-06
TOPIC: MULTI MEDIA IN EDUCATIONAL FIELD
GRAPHICS IN MULTIMEDIA
Graphics make the multimedia application attractive. In
many cases people do not like reading large amount of
textual matter on the screen. Therefore, graphics are used
more often than text to explain a concept, present
background information etc.
MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia can have many definitions. These includes:
Multimedia means that computer information can be represented
through audio, video and animation in audition to addition to
traditional media(i.e., text, graphics ,drawings , images).
A good general definition is:
Multimedia is the field concerned with the computer-controlled
integrated of text, graphics, drawings, still moving (video), animation,
audio and any other media where every type of information can be
represented , stored , transmitted and processed digitally.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines multimedia as:
“the combined use of several media such as movies, slides, music and
lighting, especially for the purpose of education and entertainment”.
THE ELEMENTS OF MULTIMEDIA
IN EDUCATION

 Text. Out of all of the elements, text has the most

impact on the quality of the multimedia interaction.
 Sound. Sound is used to provide emphasis or highlight a
transition from one page to another.
 Video.
 Animation.
 Graphics.
USE OF MULTIMEDIA TO
ENHANCE EDUCATION
 One of the chief advantages
of such multimedia
applications is that the
sequence of material
presented is dependent upon
the student’s response and
requests. Multimedia is also
used in the classroom to
enhance the educational
experience and augment the
teacher’s work. Multimedia
for education has begun to
employ servers and networks
to provide for larger
quantities of information and
the ability to charge it
frequently.
E-LEARNING

 It is much more effective because it is done

when it is needed. In an industry context, this
means that workers can receive training on PCs
at their own work-places at the time of need or
of their choosing. This generally implies storing
the material on a server and playing it through a
wide-area network or LAN.
EDUCATION WITHOUT
MULTIMEDIA
Lack of multimedia access
can have a number of
negative consequences,
including: Limited access to
education and employment
opportunities: Lack of access
to broadband , multimedia
can limit access to education
and employment
opportunities, as many
resources and opportunities
are now available online.
RESULT OF USEING MULTIMEDIA
IN EDUCATIONAL FIELD
 Common modern media such as websites, mobile
apps, mobile messaging and social media are often
multimedia. For example, a teleconferencing tool
with realtime video, voice, text messaging and
visual environments such as the ability to share a
whiteboard or document also upgrade online
courses and degrees.
CONCLUSION
Interactive multimedia learning cultivates
interaction between the learner and the
learning content and the content with the
learner. Research suggests that when such
learning interaction occurs, a learner's attention
and comprehension of the learned subject
increases.
