Stock is maintained asper business plan and closely monitored by the Production
head.
1.Slag- Slag is received from JSW steel plant through stacker and additional slag is
kept in the open area. (BC03 side)
2.Clinker-Stored in clinker silo. -Emergency stock is maintained at Jetty area.
3.Gyspsum- It is stored in the Gypsum Shed and ensure sufficient stock for
emergency.
2.2 Procedure of product, process and control:
The plant has a grinding and packing facility and has the portfolio of following
products:
1.Portland Slag Cement (PSC): - 50 to 52 % slag addition along with clinker and
gypsum.
2.Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC): No slag addition -95 % clinker & 5 % Gypsum
3.Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS). :100% slag
The plant receives high quality Slag from JSW Steel Limited and procures Clinker
and Gypsum from other industries. Grinding and Packing is done through a state of
the art facility fully controlled from the Central Control Room, PLC Based system.
The Blast Furnace Gas and Coke Oven gases are used as fuel for the drying of raw
material in place of coal to reduce carbon footprints.
The quality is tested by quality control department each hour and final products are
stored in respective silos.
JSW Cement Limited has set up the 2.2 MTPA cement plant at Dolvi, Major
equipments are VRM-Vertical Roller mills and Roller Press (RP), both are designed
for optimum heat and energy consumption.
The plant has two types of mills, Roller press and Vertical Roller mills, one is for
grinding the clinker with 3-5% of gypsum and another for grinding the blast furnace
slag. After grinding, both the products are kept separately in silos. Both the
products are then mixed in a suitable proportion to make Portland Slag Cement
(PSC).
VRM: The JSW Dolvi unit has the two Vertical Roller Mills supplied by UBE Japan.
One VRM which is having capacity of 72 TPH was commissioned in the year of 1999
and another one was commissioned in the year of 2016 with 43 TPH for PSC &
GGBS grinding facility.
The ground slag with about 370 M²/ Kg. Blaine (fineness) in GGBS is separated from
the separator and stored in cement silo of 5500 MT capacity.
For manufacturing Portland Slag Cement (PSC), both OPC and GGBS (Granulated
Ground Blast-furnace Slag) are fed into the blender in pre-determined quantities.
Slag Mills-RP
Recently 2 Roller presses are commissioned in year of 2018-19 operating in the
combined circuit for Slag grinding. JSW Cement Ltd. is the first company in the
Indian Cement Industry to install this type of circuit.
JSW Cement plant is designed for manufacturing 100% Portland Slag Cement
(PSC), eco-friendly green cement highly useful in coastal areas. PSC is very popular
in other countries for last several years but in India it is now gradually becoming
popular in construction industry.
The Company has installed 03 nos. of latest technology Roto packers (02 nos FLS
Ventomatic), with 90 TPH capacity and new 01 nos. Beumer make 120 tph. The
bags, having filled with predetermined quantity, are discharged on to the conveyor
and carried to the loading machine. In between, an online printer is installed for
printing of MRP, Week No. & Year on every bag. Bags are loaded in the trucks in a
systematic way just like palletization. The operators of the truck loader can fix the
loading pattern on the truck. JSW cement Dolvi also has the 05 bulk loading stations
having 150 tph capacity
Logistic department ensures the order execution and timely delivery of products.

Purpose
Inspection, measuring and test equipment are calibrated at prescribed intervals and maintained to
demonstrate the conformance of product
Criteria and methods of operation of processes are defined, adequate controls are in place and
actions are taken in case of any nonconformity
Timely corrective and preventive actions are taken for actual and potential nonconformities/ deviations
Ensure that those operations having significant effect on environment, Energy Use, OHS at work
place are carried out under controlled conditions.
Scope
All products i.e. raw materials, in‐process and finished products in JSW Cement Plant at Dolvi.
All equipment used in the Quality Control Department at JSW Cement plant at Dolvi.
Organization structure
To keep the consistency of JSW Cement considering various factors like different weather, clinker / slag quality
etc. , we propose to adopt the action plan as follows.
Control Factors :
1. The above action plan is based on the clinker being received presently from Japan, Iran, UAE Cement.
However, in case of the change in the source/quality of clinker receipt, timely appropriate corrective action
plan will be implemented as deem fit.
3. Filling & dispatch of product from the same silo at a time will be avoided to give consistent product. CCR &
Quality Control Department to take necessary action.
4. Mixing of PSC, CHD will be started after filling of minimum 50 % of rated capacity of intermediate GC silo
to ensure consistency of product. CCR to take necessary action.
5. Frequent Change over of PSC to GGBS CHD to GGBS & vice versa in packing machine is to be avoided.
Quality Control / logistic departments to ensure at the time of change over.
Remarks:
With the above action plan we have taken care of giving consistent product to the consumer throughout the
year maintaining over all 50 - 52 % slag addition.
