07-UI Design Tips
07-UI Design Tips
• Use no more than 3 sizes — small, medium, and large. Three sizes
provide enough variety to work with.
• Make the most important element the biggest. Emphasize the most
important aspect of your design by making it the biggest. Likewise,
make less-important elements smaller.
Grouping: Proximity and Common Regions
• Implicit and explicit groupings help us see the bones or the structure
of a page and allow us to direct attention to those areas of the screen
that are likely to be relevant to our goal.
• Without groupings, it would be much more difficult to understand
where standard areas such as navigation, content, and ads are. Thus,
it would be harder to figure out where to direct attention and which
areas can be safely ignored.
Grouping
• Grouping is usually conveyed implicitly through proximity and the use
of white space or explicitly through enclosure (common region).
Best practices for groupings
• Let it breathe. An element that has more space around it will be
perceived as one group and thus will receive more attention. Consider
emphasizing the most important aspect of your design by giving it
more space.
• Consider using a container. If varying whitespace alone is not enough
of a visual cue to create hierarchy, add extra elements like borders or
backgrounds.

Overall tips for beautiful UI design
• Empathy: There is no universal concept of beauty; only when you
truly understand your target audience can you create a design that is
appealing to them.
• Layout: The layout is the canvas of your interface; it should guide the
user’s eye effortlessly, creating a seamless flow that intuitively
connects each element.
Overall tips for beautiful UI design
• Essentialism: Embrace simplicity; every element in your design should
serve a purpose, as clutter can obscure the message and hinder the
user experience.
• Guidance: Design should not just please the eye but also lead the
user, providing clear pathways and cues for what they should do next.
Overall tips for beautiful UI design
• Aesthetics: Aesthetics go beyond mere appearance; they
encapsulate the feel of the design, creating an environment that
resonates emotionally with the user.
• Novelty: Innovative designs capture attention, but the true art lies in
balancing novelty with familiarity, ensuring users feel intrigued yet
comfortable.
Overall tips for beautiful UI design
• Consistency: Consistency in design breeds familiarity; it ensures the
user feels at home across various parts of your interface, building
trust and ease of use.
• Engagement: An engaging design is like a good conversation; it keeps
the user interested, responds to their actions, and encourages them
to come back for more.
