SECTION A:60 MARKS
1. Calculate the length of the bridge in which a train 130m traveling at 45km/hr can
cross in 30 seconds
2. If the radius of a circle increases by 6%, what is the percentage increase in it's

percent saved by not walking along the edges?

SECTION B:40 MARKS
21. Determine the degree measure of angle x
22. “A” can lay railway track between two given stations in 16 days and “B” can do
the same job in 12 days. With the help of “C” they did the job in 4 days only.
Calculate the time with which “C” can do the same job alone.
23. Three pipes A,B and C can fill an empty tank in 30minutes,20minutes and 10
minutes respectively discharging chemical solutions P,Q and R respectively. If all
the pipes are opened altogether when the tank is empty then what is the proportion
of solution R after 3 minutes?
24. Two numbers are in the ratio 3:5 If 9 is subtracted from each, the ratio becomes
12:23 Find the originally smaller number.
25. Father is aged three times more than his son Hussein. After 8 years, he would be
two and half times of Hussein’s age. After further 8 years, how many times would
he be of Hussein’s age?
