ACTIVITY 2: Lines and curves – Map of life


MATERIALS NEEDED: Long bondpaper, Pen, pencil or colored pencils
DIRECTIONS:
1. Recall some of your remarkable childhood memories.
2. Using the diagram below sketch or draw the places that have been a part of your life and are of
interest to the members of your family. Example: From your house, church, malls, parks and school.
3. Answer the questions found on the next page.

Write your answers to the following questions on the space provided.


1. Why are those places important to you and your family? How were you able to reach those places?
2. What features made those places memorable to you and your family?
3. How did these places affect you and the other members of your family?

ACTIVITY 3
FIRM UP The students will define and analyze the elements and principles in each arts and crafts.

ACTIVITY 5: TAJ MAHAL


The students will research the story behind the Taj Mahal in India and will answer the following questions.

1. What is the story behind Taj Mahal?


2. What are the elements of arts present in Taj Mahal?
3. Why did the people build it?
4. What is the message of this magnificent structure?
5. Give your personal point of view about the Taj Mahal (2-3 sentences)

ACTIVITY 6: RANGOLI STENCIL MAKING


DEEPEN
The students will make Rangoli Stencil.
Materials: colored paper, scissors, pencil, eraser
Steps: (Found in the MAPEH book)
Process Questions:
1. Is my work excellent? How was I able to come up with this excellent project?
2. Were the colors and designs applied properly?
3. Did I enjoy working on my Rangoli art?

ACTIVITY 7: DIYA ART


The students will make a simple DIWALI MOBILE.
They will need:
Yellow textured paper or pages of magazines
Textured paper in bright color
Gold cord
Gold glitter
glue String
Scissors
Puncher

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut out a flame shape from yellow paper and a diya shape from your other paper.
2. Make a hole at the bottom of the flame and another in the middle of the diya.
3. Tie them together with the gold cord.
4. Make a hole at the top of the flame and tie on some gold cord for hanging.
5. With glitter glue or a gold pen, write „Happy‟ on the flame and „Diwali‟ on the diya.

PERFOMANCE TASK:
TRANSFER St. John the Baptist Academy will be having an art exhibit showcasing the arts and crafts in the world as one of the
events for the upcoming High School Days. Each year level is assigned to display known arts and crafts of the different countries.
Grade 8 is assigned will exhibit their outputs in their art's subject.
The students will make a portfolio (Artfolio Making) showing their completed artworks for appreciation and critiquing. The portfolio
must have the following content:
1. Introduction
2. Artworks
3. Reflection

You will be graded base on the rubrics below.
