I. Chapter 1:
1. Background of the study:
In the permanent cosmetic technique, tattoos are used to replicate cosmetics such as eyeliner,
lipstick, eyebrows, and hair. This is a method of using cosmetic tattooing to conceal discoloured
regions, such as scars or vitiligo, according to medical science. After breast surgery or removal, a
woman's areola can be restored or improved using this approach. Sutherland McDonald created
the first permanent cosmetics in the contemporary era in 1902 at his tattoo shop in London. Famous
for tattooing "cute cheeks" on his customers' cheeks, Mr. MacDonald. His fame allowed this
method to spread to the United States (Seoul Academy, 2023).
Recent endeavours include beginning an internship as a recent graduate at a big international
market research and consulting organisation. This time, the goal is to produce precise and timely
information to help clients make wise business decisions. Elements were required to draft a
research proposal, complete a research ethics approval form, and sign a consent form about the
"Continue of Business" owing to the global COVID-19 pandemic as part of their ongoing training.
The study elements affecting students’ choice of Microblading academy - the case of Jolie
Nguyen demonstrates the elements and factors that influence trainees' decision to acquire a
profession. A thorough analysis of the market will reveal to businesses any flaws that need to be
fixed and reveal any issues that the trainees raise. The research also demonstrates to the trainees
that the advantages of learning and using Microblading will alleviate the majority of families'
financial problems and improve the standard of living for those who are unemployed, all while
assisting the trainees. They actually follow a labour path. From that point on, businesses will
have more vision-focused proposals and business development strategies.
2. Research Objective:
General objective: nghiên cứu các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến quyết định học nghề Microblading củ
trainees tại học viện Jolie Nguyen.
1. To describe the reason that influenced directly to the students' decision to pursue a Microblading
vocation.
3. To identify the trainees studying online by watching video before studying offline.
4. To determine the specific social media which leads the trainees to the academies.
3. Research question:
The question that a research or project tries to answer is its research topic. After data analysis and
interpretation, the study's conclusion will offer a solution to the problem or issue that this question
typically alludes to.
1. WHY DO THE TRAINEES AT JOLIE NGUYEN CHOOSE TO PURSUE THE MICROBLADING
VOCATION?
3. DO THE TRAINEES STUDY ONLINE BY WATCHING VIDEOS BEFORE THEY COME TO
STUDY OFFLINE?
4. WHAT IS THE SOCIAL MEDIA THAT HELPS THEM TO CONNECT TO THE ACADEMIES?

II. Chapter 2: Literature review
1. The purpose to pursue a Microblading vocation:
Everyone, especially women, needs to feel beautiful. Cosmetic tattooing and skin care are
therefore constantly "HOT" industries with a lot of prospective clients. Because there is such a
strong need for human resources in this field, technicians who pursue careers in cosmetology don't
have to worry about finding employment. The potential for advancement in the beauty sector is
likewise extremely great. If a technician works hard to learn new skills and continually better
himself, he or she may advance from the position of professional tattooist to that of spa manager,
vocational trainer, or even independent beauty salon owner. self-improvement and a willingness
to advance the profession. Experts claim that cosmetology is one of the industries in the
Vietnamese market that now has a relatively high income. A technician's starting pay after
completing a cosmetology course ranges from $15 to $20 million, depending on capacity, and it
steadily rises with time spent in the field. A monthly profit of up to 60 million VND is totally usual
in the Vietnamese market, particularly if the technician is the proprietor of a beauty salon or spa
(beauty parlour Mailisa, 2019)
Eyebrow restoration is now included in anti-aging operations because it has long been known that
eyebrows play a significant role in facial appearance. In the world of permanent cosmetics,
microblading is a novel method for restoring eyebrows. Because of the interest and awareness that
social media has sparked, it is currently one of the most popular treatments in cosmetic operations.
A manual tool and a blade made of stacked needles are used in the procedure known as
microblading to deposit pigment all the way down to the papillary dermis. The resulting fine,
discreet incisions that resemble eyebrow hair imitate eyebrow hair to create a realistic appearance.
The effects are temporary, lasting approximately 12 to 18 months. There have been various
changes made to this treatment in recent years due to advancements in the microblading
equipment. In addition to aesthetic treatments, microblading is currently used to treat
dermatological diseases such alopecia totalis, hypothyroidism, chemotherapy-induced madarosis,
etc. Due to its numerous applications, it is a crucial instrument in any dermatology or cosmetic
practice. However, as microblading gains popularity, more unskilled professionals are performing
it, increasing the likelihood of negative effects. This page attempts to provide guidance on both
the equipment and process of microblading as well as on pre- and postoperative care, interactions
with other aesthetic treatments, and how to handle its side effects (Indian Dermatol Online J,
2021).
However, there are different definitions from different sources which is the meaning of
Microblading. One of the most rapidly expanding aesthetic fads is microblading, which is now
available at tattoo parlours, hair salons, and even private home studios. During the treatment, semi-
permanent pigments are deposited to imitate hair strokes by penetrating the upper layer of the
dermis with an instrument with a single blade. In order to identify the biological dangers connected
to microblading, this study compares the risks of the procedure to those of tattooing and examines
the similarities. The goal of this study was to assess the amount of infection control knowledge
and procedures in place as well as attitudes toward laws in British Columbia because there is
currently a dearth of information on specific microblading techniques. Method: Email distribution
to British Columbian microblading businesses of self-administered electronic questionnaires
made on Google Forms. Through a series of inquiries on demographics, infection control, and
wound care, the survey evaluated the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of microbladers in
British Columbia. We contacted a list of 130 microblading businesses and invited them to take
part in the online poll. Results: Of the 130 businesses that were contacted, 41 consented to take
part. Most microbladers had completed a bloodborne pathogens course, had between one and
five years of experience, and a college degree or graduation. Over 31% of participants ran
microblading and permanent cosmetics businesses, 27% ran just microblading businesses, and
22% ran microblading and spa businesses. The most common type of training was a week-long
8
or longer microblading course, and 78% of participants said that additional training should be
needed to become a microblader. The Chi square test found no correlation between years of
experience and amount of pathogen knowledge (p=0.78), nor did it find any correlation between
attitudes toward microblading rules and the number of infection control measures in place
(p=0.38). The knowledge of the proper bloodborne pathogens of concern was statistically
associated with taking a bloodborne pathogens course, nevertheless. In conclusion, microbladers
in British Columbia are relatively young and have little training beyond weeklong microblading
workshops. Their combined experience ranges from 1 to 5 years. The majority of them believe
that there should be more rules involving microblading and greater training or certification
requirements. The findings showed that education and training, as opposed to years of
experience, provide the most knowledge. As a result, health authorities should concentrate on
expanding access to education for microblading, such as by offering a TattooSafe program for
tattooing microblading and permanent cosmetics, comparable to FoodSafe, and by creating
additional content to enlighten microblading fact sheets (Wong, 2018).
In some other sources of information provide information which is a burn injury is a terrible
experience. It can take a long time and is sometimes challenging to recover physically and
emotionally. In order to attain the best functional and cosmetic results, patients must undergo
frequent surgical operations. It would be desirable to find non-invasive treatments for those with
severe facial burns that improve quality of life. One such choice is microblading, or semi-
permanent eyebrow tattooing. There is a dearth of information on microblading's durability and
endurance in burns or its effects on self-esteem and body image. Finding potential physical and
psychological advantages of microblading is the goal of this case study (Melissa et al., 2020 ).
Hair loss and continuous treatment can have a big psychological and social impact. Alternative
therapies, including medical tattooing, are becoming more and more common because medical
treatments are not always effective. In this study, the motivations, experiences, and self-perceived
outcomes of adults with regard to medical tattooing were examined. 22 British women, ages 26 to
67, who had received medical tattooing for hair loss in the previous five years were interviewed
on an individual basis over the phone. Inductive topic analysis was done after interview transcripts
were analysed. For those looking for a semi-permanent option, the realities of daily maintenance,
concerns about appearance, and loss of self-confidence/identity were mentioned. The decision-
making process of the participants and their general happiness with the results of the treatment
were heavily influenced by their trust in the practitioner and the ongoing costs of tattoo upkeep.
Participants reported that the psychological consequences of hair loss and the ensuing desire for
treatment to restore one's look are still underappreciated. This study sheds light on participants'
opinions on a widely available yet understudied and unregulated medicine. Health professionals
are given advice and implications for the decision-making process are highlighted (Nicola et al.,
2021)
The study focuses on how legal issues can be resolved while microblading is being performed.
Microblading is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that aims to enhance the appearance of the
eyebrows by filling in any gaps, defining their shape, intensifying their hair, and, if necessary,
adding a bend. The eyebrows' shape can also be completely altered. By cutting the eyebrow skin
superficially and introducing the desired colour beneath it in the form of hairs, drawn in a 3D
manner with a hand tool, to show a hair of hair, simulating the truth, and rebuilding the eyebrows
for those who lack hair, the eyebrows appear naturally, and it was The Internet plays a significant
role in explaining the reality of this technology through what dermatologists and cosmetic
specialists have said, as well as through fatwas and jurisprudential opinions, and these fatwas and
opinions varied according to the evidence adopted by each of the two teams. This study was
conducted to shed light on these views. To determine the appropriate legal conclusion,
jurisprudence is studied along with the evidence they have inferred. Among its outcomes is that
first of all, there is controversy on whether tattooing or microblading is considered to be tattooing
in the fatwas, which is the root of the disagreement about the practice. Second, despite the fact that
9
there are distinctions between tattooing and Microblading, they have no bearing on judgement.
Third: Unless absolutely required, using the microblogging method is prohibited (Asma et al.,
2020)
2. The importance of videos online studying:
Online apprenticeship programs for tattoo spray are currently rather common in the Vietnamese
market. One advantage of online tattoo education is the cost savings. Self-study tattooing at home
using the Internet saves a significant amount of learning expenses when compared to tattoo spray
courses at centers and cosmetology training institutes. When learning online, a technician only
needs to invest a minimal sum of money in order to readily find knowledge ranging from
fundamental to advanced. Technicians can alter time actively and flexibly according to their own
schedule, making learning time more active and flexible than for online classes. The option exists
for those who are busy in the morning to attend classes in the evening, when they are free.
Additionally, studying tattoo spray online is appropriate for students who live a long way from
their places of study or employment but still want to acquire the skill; they can select to learn
interactively online from a distance. When enrolling in a study program, this helps reduce
expenditures while also saving the trainees' travel time.
However, there are some fairly typical drawbacks to taking tattoo spray classes online. One of the
initial drawbacks of learning tattoo spray online is that the curriculum is unreliable, unorganised,
and insufficiently scientific. Due to their limited ability to connect with the instructor or the lack
of a distinct instructor, the trainees cannot determine if they are learning in the correct direction.
The trainees rarely contact teachers, so asking and responding to questions is uncommon. This
means that the trainees' capacity for knowledge acquisition must be really strong. A tattoo practice
certificate cannot be issued without the technician first proving that they were self-taught online
or through other means, such as enrolling in formal training programs. (Linh Anh Academy, 2022).
The online way of learning cosmetic tattoo spray has numerous advantages for students, according
to the viewpoint of Microblading vocational training centers. Many people select online learning
because it is more convenient and economical. mainly due to the fact that online courses are
frequently broken up into short (1-2 week) sections. In comparison to a 1-3 month face-to-face
session, the course fee will be significantly lower. This is possibly the most obvious and evident
benefit of active learning—it only needs the internet. You can study at home or wherever else you
like as long as you have a computer linked to the internet. This eliminates the need for time-
consuming travel. Flexible schedule; technicians may attend lessons at 6 or 11 p.m. When the
technician can schedule a time, at any moment that is convenient for you. Exchange knowledge
with many different people. To ensure quality, each tattooing class in a typical classroom is limited
to 25–30 students, and the technicians will not allow friends to trade tattoos. Additionally, because
40–50 people can study online at once, it will facilitate easier connection, trade, and learning for
a larger number of people.
There are numerous advantages to learning how to spray tattoo online, but it also has limitations.
People regularly use their free time to study thanks to online learning, which will assist technicians
in taking the initiative in due time. As a result, students will not devote much time to learning, and
concentration levels will not be high. Additionally, because self-study is done without a manager,
students won't take their education seriously. Online learning will not provide technically sound
work that is performed. While there will not be many opportunities for interaction with numerous
professors in an online course with many students enrolled concurrently. Because learning to
answer only one question for each person will take a lot of time. Learners will not experience a
vibrant learning environment if they feel like they are learning a job entirely on a computer.
Therefore, if done for a long time, studying by themselves might easily become boring. Therefore,
the technician should think about whether the method of studying tattoo spray—online or in
person—will be more advantageous. In the 4.0 technology culture, online learning is actually the
10
most efficient and practical way, if the technician can overlook the aforementioned shortcomings
( Xinh Xinh Academy, 2020).
Actual experience is incomparable to novices. The best way to learn microblading is through
observing live demonstrations and testing on real customers, so for complete newbies, live
microblading training is definitely the preferable option. Working artists report that receiving
direct instruction boosts their confidence levels in their work significantly. Artists have to adapt
to the schedule because live microblading classes last for days. They are usually held in major
cities, so artists may have to drive back there or stay in a hotel. These brow sculpting classes are
more expensive, but if the artists get to practise on real people it's a wise investment.
Getting your microblading training online has a number of benefits. Time is first saved. Online
microblading training is a more practical choice for people who are attempting to adapt to
microblading and have jobs because their schedules could prevent them from attending the live
training events. For mothers, who can care for their children while also attending classes, it's a
fantastic alternative.
Additionally, obtaining a microblading certification online is less expensive. Although the cost of
an online course varies depending on the school and the course's focus, it is typically substantially
less than the cost of a live training course with the same instructor. If the course is located outside
of your hometown, you will also save money on travel and lodging. Nearly all online microblading
courses offer ongoing mentoring and support, so artists will always have someone to ask questions
even after the course is deemed complete. The main limitation of online microblading tutorials is
that artists cannot practise on real people. It's really hard to find someone willing to let artists
practise on their brows on their own, and in some jurisdictions, artists can't do that until they get a
certificate. Furthermore, it can be difficult to find the right pressure to use online. Some academies
need artists to complete a course in blood-borne pathogens before enrolling in in-person training
(PMUhub, 2023)
3. The impacts of specific social media to the Academies:
Customers today frequently use online sites for entertainment and information updates. Most of
their time is always spent online on social networking sites, the web, etc. Taking advantage of that,
beauty salons will increase their presence on online sites so that customers can pay attention to the
hospital. more aesthetic. This is a simple spa marketing method that does not cost much that a
beauty salon can apply.
Use social media to market your beauty salon.
Currently, social networking sites such as Facebook, Zalo, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube, and so on
which play an important role in the development of e-commerce in Vietnam in particular and the
world in general. Marketing campaigns of corporations, businesses or beauty spas follow these
social networks.
According to projections, there will be 76 million Facebook users in Vietnam by 2021, making it
a very promising market for spa marketing strategies provided you know how to leverage it.
Despite having fewer users than Facebook, the Instagram network is expected to grow rapidly in
the next few years. The beauty salon should thus not neglect these websites if it wants to sell spa
services effectively. The beauty shop also needs to concentrate on spending money on photos,
videos, promotions, and advertising to draw clients and establish a distinctive brand.
A quality website will be crucial to spa marketing. Customers today frequently change their search
engine information. You still need a website even if you already have a sizable social media
following. For clients to be aware of salons, it helps to improve their web presence. A decent
website can be a powerful instrument for spa marketing for beauty salons. To have a decent
website, beauty salons might take the following actions, including search engine optimization to
11
increase your visibility to customers, the website must provide call-to-action buttons, contact
information, and other forms of registration. Having appealing images, videos, and material for
users, giving customers access to an online booking button so they can conveniently make an
appointment. Communicating attractive values to customers, what makes beauty salons different,
why customers should go to the spas of beauty salons, what are the benefits received, and so on.
Display attractive descriptions to customers which is proved by the phrases "spa near me," "spa in
the area," and similar expressions are becoming more common in Google searches. As a result, it
is in your best interest to be nearby when customers are searching because their psychology
prevents them from travelling far. Many entrepreneurs are utilising this free spa marketing strategy
(Myspa, 2020)
There are other articles with opposing viewpoints. When choosing basic spa services like
therapeutic massage, facials, manicures, shampoos, and pleasant saunas, the majority of clients
have a tendency to opt for spas nearby where they reside. best. No one has the time to make a long
trip just to have a quick foot massage, manicure, or hair wash. The current marketing strategy that
attracts the most clients to the spa involves printing flyers and placing advertising banners around
the neighborhood, specifically as follows:
To encourage clients to test the service, print marketing materials such as discount coupons or
discounts on the occasion of opening. It will be simpler for the beauty salons to "pick up"
consumers the next time if the beauty salons are able to win over them after this initial trial.
Print eye-catching banners and posters to make sure the beauty salons "stand out" to onlookers.
This is another method for drawing in a source of visitors that is somewhat consistent.
In addition, the beauty salons can invest in fanpage and run ads but absolutely do not target a wide
audience like the whole of Ho Chi Minh City. The beauty salons should only focus on advertising
in the district area around the location within a radius of 5km. row. The optimization of keywords,
images, and posted content should be well-invested in order to affirm the "VIP level" in the hearts
of customers (Trung, 2019)
III. Chapter 3:
1. Research nature:
To come up with an answer or to come up with a solution, research requires creative labour. The
main content focuses on research methods that can be used to answer problems or issues directly
related to daily life, among the many diverse research methods available. Action research is the
collective name for the method of engaging the community in real-world issues. An outline of the
procedures needed to create an action research plan can be found in this chapter. From the point
of view of both community members and outsiders, common mistakes made during research are
considered (Guyette, 1983).
The primary goal of this investigation is to identify the fundamental problems with the variables
that significantly influenced the decision to enrol in the Microblading program at Jolie Nguyen
Academy. Social media marketing strategies and underutilised knowledge are insufficient to
persuade trainees to attend the facility's vocational training programs.
One of the most well-known cosmetic sectors in the Vietnamese market is microblading. In the
Vietnamese market in general and the specialisation of the cosmetology profession in particular,
marketing is currently quite popular. This is another reason why a lot of individuals study this field
and why economics students are interested in internships since there are many opportunities to
learn more and succeed in marketing.
12
2. Research design:
The first step that interns and students must take in order to finish the research paper is to follow
these instructions in order to ensure the greatest possible research outcomes:
Step 1: Search for industries in the Vietnamese market that have a lot of marketing applications
using Google.
Step 2: Pick a specialty at a certain business or branch, research service methods and industry
expertise online using a search engine
Step 4: Use the social media outlets that the corporate office has access to in addition to a
Microblading training facility to increase knowledge of the industry.
Step 5: Suggest and come up with new marketing tactics for firms, offer suggestions for
improvement, and correct mistakes made when creating marketing content for social media
accounts for businesses.
3. Sampling process:
3.1 Sampling technique:
The research team interviewed students who chose to learn Microblading at the end of the course
or who were getting ready to practise in order to provide the most realistic results possible. The
Microblading training facility also arranges workshops so that graduating seniors can connect and
speak with one another. In order to better understand the elements influencing young people's
decision to pursue a career today, the study will introduce more thorough factors to the
Microblading training facility. The vocational training facility will then offer more suitable content
orientations for its social media.
3.3.2 Population:
Based on the enrollment in each course when the training centre opens, the research will be carried
out. The K18 class was chosen for this study's interview subjects, and 30 students from that class
provided varied responses to the same questionnaire.
5. Data analysis:
As indicated by the academy courses, a student's decision to attend school will be significantly
influenced by the location and the presence of other students who have young children. People
with young children will find it challenging to concentrate on their studies because young children
induce parents to become less concentrated and more focused on their offspring. Because of this
interruption, they won't be able to focus entirely on their academics. Many medical practitioners
who practice in rural or isolated places will be concerned about travel and distance. Interns from
other countries will face a variety of difficulties due to time zone differences and travel expenses.
Age and health will be discussed next. It becomes harder to learn a vocation as one gets older. For
instance, elderly people find it challenging to master a trade due to weak vision and trembling
hands. Because of how limited this line of work is, microblading. To avoid damaging the customer,
technical competence must be applied with extreme caution and accuracy. Ages differ from one
another. In addition to being a significant obstacle to learning and processing information about
the topic, the age gap causes communication issues. For younger people, it will be difficult to
comprehend the perspective of the elder person. Cost is one of the aspects that should be carefully
considered because it is relatively sensitive. Some people are prepared to pay the 100 million VND
tuition charge, while others believe it to be prohibitively expensive. In addition, while some
students merely consider cost and how inexpensive something is, ignoring quality, quantity, and
equipment used, there is another group of students that are genuinely concerned with product
quality. tools, tools for career training, and teaching standards.
