Watertown High School Athletes Set to Compete in New York State Outdoor Track and
Field Championship

Watertown, NY - [Wednesday, June 5, 2024] - The Watertown City


School District proudly announces that three of its talented
athletes will be representing Section 3 Division 1 in the upcoming
New York State Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The
championship will take place on Friday, June 7th and Saturday,
June 8th at CNS High School.

The following athletes from Watertown High School will be


showcasing their skills at the championship:

- Justin Draught: Competing in the 100M

- Camiren Collins: Competing in the 200M

- Tafarhi Brown: Competing in the 400M

These exceptional athletes have demonstrated outstanding


performance throughout the season, contributing significantly to
the team's success. Their achievements include leading the team
to an undefeated regular season, securing two invitational team
wins in Utica and Whitesboro, and setting two school records
within just two seasons.

Brandon Marston, Head Varsity Indoor Track Coach and Head


Varsity Boys Track Coach, expressed his admiration for the
athletes' dedication and competitive spirit, stating, "It's been a
pleasure to coach
these three and see
how far they can
push themselves all year, they love to compete,
especially with each other. My other coaches and I
know they will stay focused and run their best!"

Dr. Larry C. Schmiegel, Superintendent of Schools,


commended the athletes for their outstanding
achievements, saying, "We are incredibly proud of
Justin Draught, Camiren Collins, and Tafarhi
Brown for their remarkable performances
throughout the season. Their dedication and hard
work exemplify the values of our school district,
and we wish them the best of luck in the New York State Outdoor Track and Field
Championship."

The Watertown City School District extends its full support and best wishes to Justin Draught,
Camiren Collins, and Tafarhi Brown as they represent their school and community at the New
York State Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
