In recent years, as hydraulic excavators have found use on smaller job sites, demand
for machines having a small tail swing radius has increased.
For this reason, Cat introduces the 320C Utility machines. The tail swing radius of
these machines falls within the track length. This makes them ideal for use in urban
construction, logging roads and other applications on sites where space is restricted.
With a smaller swing radius than the 320C, these machines can operate in smaller
spaces without a loss in operating performance. These machines share the same
Caterpillar C-Series characteristics such as: ease of operation, durable structural
components and undercarriage, extended service intervals, unmatched controllability
and complete customer support.
With a small swing radius, the 320C Utility is best-suited for tight areas but also
offers the same performance as the standard 320C excavator in general-purpose
applications. This flexibility is as a major selling point to customers.
Performance. The 320C Utility was designed to have a small swing radius, but at the same time maintain C-
Series characteristics and offer the same level of operating performance as the 320C standard machine
wherever possible.
