Getting Started Guide

Welcome

Welcome to Odd Roleplay! Thank you for choosing our server! We hope you enjoy your stay
here and this guide will help you get going, understanding your new Keybinds and the basics
of how things work here! Please remember to always stay in character. Only use /ooc for
scuff or issue during roleplay.

Useful Information

● You will not own a car until you have bought one from PDM. Once you have bought
one, you'll have access to see it in the ‘Vehicles’ (Garage icon) app on your phone
IG (In-Game).
● There is a car rental place located on the map where you can rent a car from, but to
be able to steal and drive a car you will have to USE A LOCKPICK from your
inventory (pockets). After that, follow the on-screen animation to be able to start the
car. Unless you rented a car, then you don't need to use a lockpick. Just start the
engine (G) and drive away.
● If you are looking for work, use the ‘Jobs` (Briefcase icon on your phone) app. This
will provide you with a list of all the legal jobs. In some jobs you might find a person
near the site. Just use your third-eye (Left-Alt) to get hired/go on-duty, and get started
with the job you picked. For any other job, find this out through speaking to other
people in the city.
● Paycheck - The paychecks from normal jobs aren’t the same as whitelisted-jobs.
There are multiple player owned businesses around the city, we recommend
exploring and making friends if you want to make a decent living.
● You’ll need to keep an eye on your food and drink bars, if they get too low you will
pass out and need medical attention. Please be very careful once the timer runs
out, if it says ‘Wait for Police/EMS’ and you respawn your pockets will be
emptied.
● Use /report for anything that involves the staff team. Twitter is always in character.

FAQs

Q: How do I get a car?

A: Locking picking: You need to use Tab (to see inventory) then use one of the
complementary lockpicks, Successfully complete the minigame of hitting the number
shown while indicator hits the correct place.

Q: Where do I get food/Water?

A: Convenience stores all over the map, walk into the store and to the registers and
Left-Alt the clerk. There you can buy sandwiches, bandages and drinks and more.

Q: Where do I myself get medical/assistance?

A: Use your T prompt to type /911 “insert reason here” and if medical/police are on
duty, they will come assist. If you can make it there, the pillbox is our functioning
hospital. Just walk up to the desk and third eye it.
Q: How do you make money?
A: Your phone (hit M) you can see the suitcase application, you then select from a
various list of jobs we recommend mining. We recommend having a vehicle with lots
of trunk space. To sell your goods for this job you have to find the buyers all around
the map. We will give you the first location as a token of kindness (The Jewel buyer
is in front of a country club in Rockford Hills.)

Q: How do you get a gun?

A: You go to MRPD and request an officer via T prompt /311, you will need to
request a licence and then go to City Hall to acquire it. Once you get your gun
licence you MUST go to bed in your apartment or house after you have flown back in
you can then go purchase a gun at any ammunation. (Gun licences are $25K so
avoid getting it revoked).

Q: How do I do crime?
A: You can ask many criminals in the city how to do certain things. They will more
freely give information such as corner selling drug, house and store robberies, other
things you will likely have to prove you are trustworthy for in RP! ;)

Q: How do I get a whitelist job like a cop?

A: You need to fill out the police application in discord.

Q: What sort of stuff can you do in the city?

A: It’s a sandbox. We have lots of things from an arcade to nightclubs to racing and
drifting. Interacting with people can tell you what's up and show you where the hang
spots are. Additionally check the discord for events that may be happening etc.
(twitter is also a great place to ask)

Q: I “died/got downed” no one is responding, What do I do?

A: Two ways of doing it, Wait for EMS/PD and RP the scenario. Alternatively wait for
the “Respawn timer (300 Seconds)”. If you decide to Respawn, you will lose your
items and will also pay $2000. UNLESS if there are NO EMS/PD around. Then
you’ll be able to respawn as normal, and get all your items back.

Server Rules

a. ODD RolePlay has an 18+ age requirement. No minors are permitted.

b. You must join the ODD RolePlay discord server in order to connect to the
server.

c. A working, quality microphone is required. Push to talk must be used.

d. Stay in character at all times, do not go OOC (out of character), even if

someone else does. This includes explaining to them that they are
rule-breaking.

e. Player reports and support issues are to be taken care of through the
appropriate discord ticket process. When reporting players in a ticket, please
get the player ID numbers that appear over their heads when pressing the
“Home” button.

f. Do not approach admins about your tickets in the city while they are on
RP characters.

2. Account Ownership/Character Creation

a. Only one person per account/character. Do not share your account

information with other players.

b. Selling in game assets for money is prohibited.

c. Character names should be somewhat realistic, offensive names will result in

a ban.

d. Characters must be 18 years of age or older.

e. You are not allowed to transfer funds or items between your characters.

f. Once a character has been “perma-killed” they can not be brought back.
Perma-kills only occur when a player wishes to end a character's cycle. They
can not be forced into “perma-killing” their character.

3. Code of Conduct

a. Harassment of any type will not be tolerated.

b. We reserve the right to remove you from the community for toxicity on
any
platform, this includes areas outside of the game or discord server.

4. Cheating/Modding

a. Any player found to have been cheating will be banned from ODD RolePlay.

b. Cheating is considered the use of any aimbot, exploit, hack, game-mod,

macro, software, etc, to gain an in-game advantage.
Roleplay Rules

c. Combat Logging - Logging out or quitting in the middle of a scene to avoid

consequence is against the rules. Players found to have violated this rule will
receive a ban. If your game crashes you are expected to return to your
last location ASAP.

d. Metagaming - Using information that you learn out of character (OOC) on

your character in the city is prohibited. This includes using discord chat
while playing. That is not allowed.

e. Powergaming - You are not allowed to force or dictate RP in a manner that is

unrealistic. Examples would be using a phone while dead, speaking while
dead, lying to police when “/me” searched for a weapon on a pat-down when
they would notice a gun in that pat-down search, etc.

f. New Life Rule (NLR) - Any time a player is “full-killed”, meaning they are put
into a downed state, and then fully killed and in “dead” state, they will
forget all information learned in the immediate events leading up to that
instance. Once brought back up by EMS, a character must be informed of
any information again before they can remember. If an entire group gets
“full-killed”, they will all lose the information. This also means they are not
supposed to return to a scene they were previously involved in after dying, as
they would not know about it.

g. Not Valuing Life (NVL) - Players are expected to value their lives at all times.
Treat your character’s life as if it were real, do not kill yourself senselessly or
refuse reasonable demands when your life is in danger. Do not place yourself
in dangerous situations without good reasoning. If someone has you at
gunpoint, you need to act accordingly.

h. Kill on Sight (KOS) - KOS is prohibited without proper RP reason. There

needs to be prior interaction that would reasonably lead to a shootout.

i. Random Deathmatch (RDM) - There must be an RP reason to engage in a

shootout or to assault someone. Do not target other players at random.

j. Vehicular Deathmatch (VDM) - Using your vehicle as a battering ram or a

weapon without a proper RP reason is prohibited.

k. No-Crime Zones (NCZ) - Violence or crime of any sort is prohibited in any

NCZ. This includes all hospitals, police stations, city hall buildings, and
courtrooms, as well as the property surrounding the buildings.
(Drive-up, parking lot, stairs, etc.)

l. Ramming - You are not allowed to use your car to ram into another car
without proper reason, and are NEVER allowed to purposely ram your
vehicle into someone else’s while going 100 mph or faster.

m. Assassinations are allowed, but must invole quality rp. Do not run up to
someone and kill them.
 n. If a scene is cut short by a server reset, players are expected to return to the
last location and finish it out, unless other options were agreed upon by all
parties.

o. Stunt jumps are allowed as long as they are reasonable. For example, do not
take jumps that would obviously blow out your suspension and destroy your
car.

p. Bodycam is valid when you have not been fully-killed. You are the only person
who can access your own body cam. It is permitted to take away someone's
bodycam. This is for in-city purposes. Clips are always valid in OOC support
issues.

q. You are not allowed to impersonate EMS or PD.

r. Cop baiting is not allowed unless it’s to setup RP. Do not bait cops for fun or
just to troll. For example, using illegal activity to divert a cops attention
somewhere isn’t considered trolling since it has a purpose.

s. Body dumping is allowed on land, but not into water. There is no point in
ocean dumping when memory is wiped on full-kill. Do not leave the bodies
handcuffed when dumping.

t. Voice identification is not allowed if an attempt to change the voice is made,

and you can’t see the person’s face.

u. You are not allowed to fly aircraft unless you have passed the aircraft license
test.

v. You are allowed to place any item in the “6 slot” as long as it is not a weapon.

5. Robberies/Hostages

a. Player to Player Robberies - P2P robberies are allowed, but only with RP
reason. Do not “pocket wipe” (steal everything) someone’s inventory

b. unless you have proper buildup or reason to do so. You are not allowed to
stick people up as a means to make money, there needs to be RP to it.

c. Players are not allowed to hold someone at gunpoint and tell them to empty
their bank account or ATM. The same applies for forcing them into their
homes or stashes.

d. Players are allowed to set up trap robberies. (I.E. posting on twitter for
someone to come to a certain spot, and then sticking them up.)

e. You are not allowed to rob EMS.

f. You are allowed to rob Police vehicles and bodies.

g. You can steal a police vehicle with good RP reason. (I.E. you are in a police
chase,
and your vehicle stalls out, you have no other choice but to hop into an empty
police car.)

vii. Gang Rules

viii. Gangs are limited to 15 members.

ix. You are not allowed to attack another group while using more than 8
people unless you are in an active gang war. You are allowed to
defend yourself if you are in a group larger than 8, and attacked by
another group first. This does not mean you can go out in a group
larger than 8 and provoke smaller groups to shoot at you first.

x. Gang wars are active 24/7 if one group is beefing with another. We do
not host “Wagers” or “TDM” events as this is a serious rp server.
“Shoot On Sight” is permitted for gangs with proper build up to the rp
scenario.

xi. Gangs are allowed to have allies, but they are not allowed to go over
the interaction limits. (I.E. 8v8)
