Linux is an open-source operating system that is developed and distributed freely
by a community of developers and There are many different flavors of Linux also known as distributions or "distros," available, such as Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian and more.
To create a dual-boot installation of Windows along with another operating system
like Linux, follow these general steps,
Choose the Linux Distribution
Select Linux distribution that suits needs and download the ISO image file from the official website of the Linux distribution and can choose the version that is compatible with hardware and requirements.
Create a Bootable USB Drive
Create a bootable USB drive using the ISO image file of the Linux distribution and Can use software like Rufus or Etcher to create a bootable USB drive. Follow the instructions provided by the software to create a bootable USB drive.
Backup Your Data
Before proceeding with the installation and it's important to backup data on your computer as the installation process may involve partitioning and formatting of hard drive which can result in data loss if not done properly.
Boot from the USB Drive
Insert the bootable USB drive into your computer and restart it and Boot from the USB drive by accessing the boot menu or changing the boot order in the BIOS settings and The process to access the boot menu or BIOS settings may very depending on computer's manufacturer and model.
Install the Linux Distribution
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Linux distribution on computer and You will be prompted to choose the installation type. Select the option for dual- boot or alongside Windows which will allow to install Linux alongside your existing Windows installation. Configure Dual-Boot Options During the installation process may be prompted to configure the dual-boot options and can choose the default operating system to boot into, set the timeout for the boot menu and configure other boot-related settings.
Complete the Linux Installation
Complete the Linux installation process by selecting the desired partition for Linux, setting up the file system and installing the bootloader and Once the installation is complete restart computer.
Choose Operating System at Boot
After restarting computer should see a boot menu that allows you to choose between Windows and Linux , Use the arrow keys to select the desired operating system and press Enter to boot into it.
