MATH HOLIDAY HOMEWORK

CLASS III
1. Designing a booklet
 Design a booklet on 2D and 3D shapes.
On one side of the booklet make the shape
either with colourful origami sheets or by
drawing. On the other side, write all the
properties of that shape.

2. Place Value - Paper Folding Activity


● Cut 3 strips of any colour which are 3 cm broad and 20 cm
long. Fold and divide the strip into 4 equal portions as
suggested in the picture to form a 4- digit number.
 Each digit of the number to be written on each fold.
● Present the expanded form of the different numbers formed
by opening the folds.
● Fold the strip to represent the number formed.
● Paste all the 3 strips one below the other on an A4
sheet in such a way that their expanded forms are visible.

3. Revise Multiplication tables till 10.


4. Tangram – It is a Chinese puzzle. It has 7 pieces of different shapes. These pieces are
called Tans. The Tans can be rearranged to form different shapes. These Tans are cut from a
square. We can even make different animals, birds and alphabets using these Tans.
Instructions:
 The shape should have all the seven pieces.
 Few samples are given below.
 You may use the given tangram to cut out the tans to make one shape of your choice.
 Colour the tans with different colours.
 Arrange and paste the Tans on an A-4 sheet.
CLASS 4

1.Design your own snake and ladder game using Roman


numerals (1 to 100)on an A-3 sheet .

2. Find the cut outs of 10 large numbers (6 or 7 digits ) from different magazines/
newspapers. Paste them on a light coloured A4 sheet. Round off each number to nearest
10, 100, 1000

3. Solve the attached crossword .

4. Revise Multiplication tables till 15.

2. Associative property of addition


On an A4 size sheet, show 8 + (4 + 6) = (8 + 4) + 6 either by using three different colour circle
cutouts or three different colour bindis of your choice. Refer to the picture given below.

3. A MAGIC TRIANGLE ACTIVITY- A magic triangle is an arrangement of the


numbers on each side of a triangle, where the sum of the numbers on each side is
equal to the number mentioned at the centre.

Solve the attached magic triangles puzzle.

4. Find the any five countries of world with largest area in Sq km and answer the following in
an A4 size sheet.
a) Write their areas in the Indian and International number system.
b) Write their areas in expanded form.
c) Round off each area to the nearest 1000.

5. Revise Multiplication tables till 20.
