EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
It is no more an arguable fact that the world is getting digitalized. Computer is taking over
all our daily activities and manual works are no longer appreciated. A time is coming that you will
no longer be needed in our economy if you are not computer literate, and the time is fast
approaching.
Many spend hundreds of thousands of naira to learn a computer skill after secondary and
even university graduation, this is because every field of profession now requires the knowledge
of computer. Therefore, the greatest gift an educational institution can give to their students is
computer professions.
There are some computer programs people go for after secondary school education (at the
computer centers around) or after university graduation (at institutions like NIIT). We have decided
to bring these courses down to secondary school level.
1. DESKTOP PUBLISHING:
Microsoft word
Microsoft excel
Microsoft power point
Typing skill (Mavis Beacon)
2. BASIC COMPUTER MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING:
Opening and changing of some parts of computer (like screen, RAM, hard drive,
processor, keyboard, motherboard servicing, etc)
Making an operating system bootable device (flash drive and CD)
Reloading operating system on computers
Installation and cracking of software
3. GRAPHIC DESIGN:
COREL DRAW
PHOTOSHOP
ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR
4. PHOTOGRAPHY
5. CINEMATOGRAPHY
6. WEB DEVELOPMENT (RAW CODDING)
7. DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LOCAL HOST)
8. ANDROID APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
MODE OF OPERATIONS
The six classes in secondary school will be divided into three sections:
Section 1: JSS1 AND JSS2 will take number 1 and 2 courses which are DESKTOP PUBLISHING
and BASIC COMPUTER MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING.
Section 2: JSS3 AND SSS1 will take number 3, 4 and 5 courses which are GRAPHIC DESIGN,
PHOTOGRAPHY and CINEMATOGRAPHY.
Section 3: SSS2 AND SSS3 will take number 6, 7 and 8 courses which are WEB
DEVELOPMENT, DBMS AND ANDROID APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT.
Three separate teachers will handle each of these sections simultaneously for straight two hours in
a week.
Therefore, a JSS1 AND JSS2 student will graduate to another set of courses in JSS3 and SSS1 and
also graduate to another set of courses in SSS2 and SSS3.
For a child that follows through JSS1 to SSS3 in your school will have all streams of computer
careers in his/her CV after leaving secondary school.
After every section, competitions will be held among students in every sections and winners will
be awarded with professional tools (like laptops, camera, phones, etc).
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. All students participating should have a laptop of his or her own for the class that will
be brought to school on the day of classes.
i. Students from the school will be recognized for computer professional skills which will
definitely be selling point among other schools.
ii. The school can take part in National and international competitions putting the school
on the limelight of computer professionalism.
i. Without exaggerations, many of my mates which are graduates cannot do what we are
about to give to these students. These courses are done professionally from computer
schools and institutions with exorbitant fees but they will get the knowledge on a platter
of gold alongside secondary school education.
ii. The computer system will stop being an ordinary game gadget but a money generating
machine.
FINANCIAL COST
THE SERVICE of tutoring and guiding the students through their computer professional career
will be done for ₦ 5000 per term per child.
CONCLUSION
We hope this proposal reflects the objectives of the computer professional classes we are
proposing. And we hope the school can make all sacrifices involved to help us achieve
this professional success.
Thank you in anticipation of your consideration and response to this proposal, as well as
working with you.
