CHAPTER -1

Uses of Computer
Summary: -
Computers are used in so many fields in our daily life. A computer is
a very useful machine you see computer in at home, it helps you to do
homework, play games in offices, it helps with typing, printing and
sending messages. Let us now learn about computer in different places
for different kinds of work.
t Home: - You can do your homework and projects using a computer.
you can use it to write letters and to play games. It helps your parents to
calculate monthly expenses and pay bills, sending and receiving e -mails,
look for information and watch movies.
In Schools: - It help students to learn different subjects. It helps to solve
maths sums quickly, to learn different subject and to draw pictures. Keep
information about the students and to prepare report card.
In offices: -We use computer in offices to type and print document, to
design books, clothes, and buildings. In banks, it is used to maintain
accounts of customers, to make office work easily.
Railway station and Airports: - It used to reservation counters for
booking and cancelling of tickets. Keeping records of arrival an
departure of trains and flight, Keep track of location speed and direction
of trains and airplanes.
In Hospitals: - In hospitals, it helps a doctor to diagnose diseases and
several other places. It helps Doctor and nurse to record Patients
information, carry out medical tests.
In Banks: - Put and take out of money, keep records of the customers.
Some other places: - Computers are used for research and invention in
order to launch rockets into spaces. It helps in weather forecasting to
help farmers and others.
