Summer Internship Project (SIP) Guidelines
Subject Code: 06200206 Credits: 6
Objectives:
• To engage students in recognizing and solving real-world industry problems.
• To expose students to practical research work and industry environments.
• To enhance students' research and analytical skills.
General Guidelines:
1. Project Topic Selection: Students must choose a research topic related to their
functional area in consultation with their Internal Faculty Guide. The project may
involve problem analysis, product development, or new method implementation
and should include data collection and analysis.
2. Functional Focus: Students may select a topic in their specialization or any other
management area. The project should ideally demonstrate a cross-functional
approach.
3. Internship Duration: The internship should last between 40 to 45 days.
Exceptions must be approved through the appropriate channels.
4. Pre-Internship Requirements: Submit an offer letter and contact information of
your industry supervisor before starting. Regular updates every 15 days during
the internship are required.
5. Internship Requirements: Internships should be conducted at reputable
organizations. Remote internships and positions at small retail outlets or family
businesses are not accepted.
6. Evaluation: Internship performance must be formally evaluated by your company
supervisor who will provide feedback on your professionalism and the utility of
your work.
7. Report Submission and Viva Voce: Complete your SIP report by the deadline. The
report will be evaluated based on clarity, methodology, literature quality,
application of concepts, understanding of the business environment,
documentation skills, and utility to the organization.
8. Formatting Guidelines: Use Times New Roman font size 12, 1.15
line spacing, and justified indentation. No headers or footers,
except for page numbers.
9. Structure of the Report:
• MAIN HEADINGS (centered)
• Sub-headings (left-aligned)
• Further Sub-headings (left-aligned)
10. Non-Compliance: Failure to meet these guidelines will result in a failing grade.
