1. Introduction
The importance of sports cannot be denied in maintaining one’s physical as well as mental
health. Playing sports helps one improve their self-esteem, social skills, stress-management and
maintain a healthy lifestyle. It also helps them improve important skills like time-management
and discipline which are helpful in professional life. Successful sports performance can
sometimes lead to a fulfilling sports career for some people.

Sports For All (SFA) is India’s largest tech-enabled multi-sport grassroots competition
platform. The vision is to make youth fall in love with sports through inspiring and joyful
sporting experiences. Founders Rishikesh Joshi and Vishwas Choksi, since the inception of
SFA in 2015, have determinedly focused on transforming and mobilizing school sporting

1.1.Scope of Sports academies among current generation

Sport accolades garnered by Indian athletes in National as well as international sporting

events have seen a gradual improving trend in the last decade. Figure 1 shows the medals tally at
National games from year 1951 to 2018 for different categories. It is observed that the number of
medals won by Indian Athletes has seen an improvement.

A similar trend can also be observed in international sporting events such as the
Commonwealth games. This has led to an increase in interest from the public in general and
parents in particular to inculcate training and participation of their children in such events.
Based on this increased interest in professional training in various sports, SFA academy has
come up with a world class institute that provides training in various sports categories.

4. Data Analysis

The data gathered from all the sporting events conducted at this event gives an interesting
picture regarding the most trending sports and participation levels. We even get to know about
the overall sports participation from different schools and the importance given to such sporting
activities by these schools. Such events are avenues for schools to showcase their infrastructure
and the importance given at their institutions to non-academic activities like sports that help
build a team spirit and positive competitive attitude among the students.

4.1 Most popular sport

Analyzing the data related to winners and participation gave interesting insights. There were
some sports like football which were much more popular than other sporting events. In the SFA
Championship Bengaluru 2024, With 69% male athletes and 31% female athletes, football,
along with athletics, badminton, and basketball, highlighted the diverse talent pool among the
youth.

4.2 Most popular sport among both genders

While some sports attracted more boys than girls, there were sports that displayed equal
participation from boys and girls. For example, approximately 50% of the athletes competing in
badminton were female, demonstrating a balanced representation across genders. It was
wonderful to see such inclusivity in sports.

4.3 Top schools by number of medals

Some schools displayed great sporting talent compared to others. This is a testament to the
importance given to sports and extracurricular activities in these schools. Along with the
increased importance given to such activities, the dedication and hard work put in by the

5. Conclusion
As a platform for displaying budding sporting talent and to inculcate a spirit of sportsmanship,
events like the SFA championship play an important role. Being a part of the logistics
management team for a sporting event can be a valuable experience that teaches us several
important lessons. Let’s explore some of the benefits:

1. Teamwork and Collaboration:

o Organizing a sporting event involves working closely with others. As part of the
team, you learn how to collaborate effectively, communicate, and contribute to a
common goal. This experience enhances your teamwork skills, which are valuable
in any professional setting

2. Leadership and Decision-Making:

o Event organizers often need to make quick decisions under pressure. Being part of
the team exposes you to leadership opportunities. You learn to assess situations,
delegate tasks, and make informed choices. These skills are transferable to
various aspects of life and work

3. Time Management and Planning:

o Successful events require meticulous planning and adherence to timelines. As an

organizer, you learn to manage schedules, allocate resources, and prioritize
tasks. These time management skills are essential in both personal and
professional contexts

4. Problem-Solving and Adaptability:

o Unexpected challenges arise during event planning. Whether it’s a sudden change

in weather or logistical issues, you must find solutions on the spot. This
experience hones your problem-solving abilities and teaches adaptability.
