Course Outcome (CO):
After completing this project, you should be able to:

▪ Setup a Wired or Wireless network

▪ Demonstrate the process on how: -

1. To setup a simple network using simulation tools - Packet Tracer


i. Create 2 Different LAN
a) LAN 1: 4PC and 1 Laptop
b) LAN 2: 1 FTP Server and 1 Laptop
ii. Each LAN will have its own switch and
iii. All the LANs Switch will connect to Main router
2. By using command prompt: -
i. Check the connection between network devices in the same LAN
ii. Check connection of network devices between different LAN
iii. Check connection from each LAN to the Main Router
3. To share file between PC in a network.
4. To check the IP address and MAC address of devices that connected to your network using
command prompt.
5. To view a list of station that connected in a network using command prompt.
6. Extra mark will be rewarded if you able to:
i. Configure the FTP server and connect to it using the command prompt from the
laptop in its own LAN (Local Area Network).
ii. Create a file and upload the file From Laptop by using command prompt to the
FTP server.

▪ Provide/Name a network monitoring tool that available to monitor your network.


Create a group that consist of 3 or 4 members.

1. Group assignment presentation – 15%


On week 12-13, group members are expected to present their work to class during/tutorial using
appropriate presentation tools and demonstration.

2. Group assignment report –15%


The report is due on week 12-13 during class presentation. The report must more than 10 pages. You
must submit a report hardcopy to the lecturer. The report will include the following items:
a) Cover page
b) Table of Content: TOC
c) Introduction
● Your introduction should discuss the overview and objectives of project.

● You should also explain on task delegation to each group members.


d) Content/Analysis of Topic
● Step by step on setup a network

● Step by step checking all the connection

● Step by step on process of file sharing in a network or process of sending a message.

● Step by step IP address and MAC address checking

● Step by step view list of station that connected in the network

● Step by step configuring FTP server, create and upload File in FTP server.
e) Conclusion
f) References - APA style (in text-citation, and references)
