Assignment For Week - 01
1/The purpose of research is to find a solution to a real-world problem that intertwines with
the previous knowledge and experiments that have been done before.
Q.2/ Research is the most important right now for solving real-world problems. However, it has
some rules and regulations to maintain the author's credit and appreciation. There are also some
rules and regulations, and they can vary according to the specific country's rules and government.
I think there are two most important ethical considerations, one of which is Data confidentiality,
and another one is plagiarism.
1/ Data confidentiality: Data, is the most important asset in the 4 th industrial revolution.
However, in the research sector data is the main things and most important asset. There are some
research fields, some of the research topics more sensitive, like some research in military
weapons, new drug patterns, etc. If there is any chance these documents or data are licked
anytime, it conducts a war also. So, Data privacy is the most important in the research field.
2/ Plagiarism: If you use any kind of data without the permission of the author that is
Plagiarism, and it can destroy the career of a researcher. This is very shameful for anyone. It
damages the reputation of the authors and journals also.
Q.3/ From the beginning of mankind, they have encountered various problems and after solving
those, they reached this modern world. I think the best way of problem-solving is to research to
find an appropriate solution for the problem. The research in the field of medical and engineering
sector is the most important also with social science etc.
Research in Engineering: The most challenging sector is the engineering sector. A proverb goes
that, Scientists dream it and engineers build it. Engineers encounter various problems in every
mega or small project, and they find a solution. This is possible through research and experience
and the engineers' problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. As a civil engineer, I can say
how much research is important in this engineering sector. A failure/problem or disaster can
change the model and the model can change the code. Every year the code (the bible for
engineers) changes in engineering, which is only possible with the help of RESEARCH.
Q.4/
Key Point: Numerical Calculation, Incidental Blast Effect, Industrial Steel building, Finite
Element Analysis.
Data Collection Methods: In this research, we use numerical calculation with the FEM
model. According to data collection methods; it’s a numeric contentious process. It’s a measuring
thing.
Conclusion: After this numerical evaluation and based on FEM analysis of Incidental Blast
Effects on Industrial Steel Building (PEBs) we find a crucial insight into the structural integrity
and resilience of such buildings. Utilizing the modern FEM software this study identified some
points to revise during construction to prevent devastation after the blast and save our manpower
life. The findings underscore the importance of rigorous structural analysis and design
enhancements to mitigate the devastating impacts of industrial explosions, which are often
caused by chemical reactions and electrical short circuits.
Q.5
According to a previous study, we can find the blast effect in the plate and shear wall, etc. So,
our question is what are the structural conditions and the development of gas and electric short
circuits?
Q.6
According to this study, this is quantitative research because it is numeric research that has
numbers, and graphs.
Q.7
According to question 5, In this study we have numerical calculation analysis and so on, so, it is
quantitative research.
Q.8
According to question 7, it is quantitative research, it has numerical numbers and is contentious
and it is an Interval scale.
Q.9
The main difference between Quantitative and qualitative data is:
Quantitative: Its numerical and non-descriptive and universal truth
Qualitative: It's descriptive and suitable for social science. We can ask How and why and can
understand the behind-the-scenes of human behavior.
Some examples of quantitative data are:
Interval scale: This is a method where between measurements have a meaningful value and don’t
have a true zero.
Ratio scale: This is a method where between measurements have a meaningful value and have a
true zero.
Q.10
In research data collection is an important topic. It can define the face of a whole research paper.
There are various challenges in data collection one of them is:
1/ Accessibility
2/ Accuracy
3/ Data privacy
Accessibility: Sometimes it’s much more difficult to reach concerned people to collect data and
view interviews.
Accuracy: Data accuracy is also important, sometimes we make errors and sometimes the
machine gives us wrong answers. It's difficult to find out the actual value of our study.
Q.11
To ensure the quality of a research paper we should be concerned about
1/ Clear Topic
2/ Methodological rigor
Clear topic: A clear topic can define the paper's quality. It should be clear and meaningful.
Methodological rigor: This includes the appropriateness of the research design, the reliability
and validity of instruments and measures, the sampling method, and the data analysis techniques.
Q.12
Identifying Predatory Journals: A lot of journals are available now. Some of them are free of
cost and some take money from authors and publish their journals. Some categories have Q1,
Q2, and so on. I think a good journal never takes money for paper publishing. They have also a
good clear detailed editorial board for reviewing papers and they take a lot of time to give you
acceptance notification. On the other hand, a fake journal takes 2-3 weeks for notification and
after that, they will publish your paper. It is very harmful to managing professors for higher
studies in the future. It also destroys a researcher’s life.
