Practice 2:

The table shows the information The table gives the information about the percentage of monthly
earnings allocated to four different main categories including food and drink, housing, clothing,
and entertainment of five countries in five European countries.
One noteworthy feature which can be seen from the graph is that the majority of consumer in Eu spend
most of their income on food & drink and housing. In contrast, the lowest figure could be seen in the
category of clothing and entertainment.
Looking at the tables in detail, it is obvious that Turkey is the country where its residents spend the most
of their expenditure on food and drink, followed by Spain with 31%, which is less than Turkey’s 5%. In
terms of housing, the proportion of UK households is the largest at 37%, while Spain and Turkey have the
least income spent on housing at 18% and 20% respectively.
Now, turning to the details of clothing, the percentage of income people in Germany was higher than
those of France and Spain, which were 7% and 8% respectively. Similarity, Germany also concerned
about entertainment, so the proportion of expenditure account for the highest at 19%, whereas the UK’s
and Turkey’s is the lowest at 10% and 11% respectively.
Practice 3:

the given bar chart indicates the percentage of men and women who between the ages of 18 and 20 do
several activities in sports including basketball, cycling, football, swimming, and hockey in a month. In
general, while the majority of men like playing soccer, women are fond of cycling. Neither of them plays
hockey very often. In addition, cycling is also favorable activity in both genders.
As is presented in the bar chart, the proportion of men playing football accounts for the largest, which is
over 50%, while the figure for women was significant lower, approximately 15%. Similarity, the
percentage of men playing basketball far exceeded that of women, and the figures are about 33% and
12% respectively. While nearly 12% of the male in the survey taking part in hockey, only roughly 5%
female do so.
Now turning to the rest of activities, a significant difference can be seen in the percentage of men and
women going swimming, which is around 35% and 20% in that order. However, both women and men
seem to like going cycling, and the figures are precisely 40% and nearly 37% respectively. Thus, the
majority of men are fond of many teamwork sports like soccer, basketball, and so on, while individual
activities are tended to be preferred by women.
Practice 4:

The two given charts illustrate why people migrate to and from the UK in 2007. Overall, Overall, it is
immediately obvious that the percentage of people moving in or out of the UK to take a permanent job
and pursue a formal education was highest in both charts, but the figure for those with responses of "no
reason" was also insignificant. Especially, the proportion of immigrants and emigrants for working, no
reason, others were equally the same.
The chart data clearly shows that the prominent reason why people move in and out of the UK is formal
study, with respective figures being 31% and 28%. The proportion of ‘no reason stated’ was the highest,
followed by immigrating or emigrating due to defined job, which are 28% and 26% respectively.
Turning to the rest of reasons, the percentage of people moving for no reason accounted for the least of
the total others reason did, and the figures are 7% at immigration and 8% at emigration. Like that, the
proportion of people move in and out UK owning to looking for work also is equally the same, at 14%
and 15% respectively. Finally, other reasons which the figures are 10% and 9% respectively.
