English 9
Quarter 2–Module 6-Week 6:
Using Adverbs in Narration
Welcome to the English 9 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Using Adverbs in
Narration.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from public
institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the standards set
by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in
schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.
Welcome to the English 9 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Use Adverbs in
Narration.
An adverb is a word that modifies (describes) a verbs (she talks loudly), an adjective (very
gorgeous), another adverb (ended too early), or even a whole sentence (Fortunately, I had
informed them earlier). Adverbs often end in –ly, but some (such as fast) look exactly the same
as their adjective counterparts.
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for guided and
independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process the contents of
the learning resource while being an active learner.
Find ten (10) adverbs in the following sentences. Write your answer in your English
notebook.
1. Giraffes are very tall and have extremely long tongues.
2. They are fed daily with fruits and vegetables.
