Dinosaurs

Long ago, giant creatures used to roam the land. They (0) are called dinosaurs.
Although we have never really (9) saw a live dinosaur, palaeontologists, or scientists
who study the history of the earth, have found the remains or bones of these
creatures. Such bones are called fossils. Fossils tell many tales (10) of the creatures

Who shapes the person you are the most? Parents or probably family
members are probably at the top of the list for many people. But a close second
place is very likely to go to teachers to thank for the success.

Bill Gate has thanked his teachers by saying, ‘There's no way there would be a
Microsoft without my teachers doing what they did.’ Gates' Maths teacher, Fred
Wright, asked him to push himself just a little bit harder. And his drama teacher,
Anne Stephans, helped him to build his confidence when she made the sometimes
uninterested school boy the star of the school play.

And he is not the only one. Oprah Winfrey, a talk show host, an actress and
a TV producer, was inspired by her fourth grade teacher, Mrs Duncan. Oprah says,
‘I felt, I could face the world because teachers create a love for learning that lives
inside you. It is why I have a talk show today.’

So, if you have a teacher, you are one of the lucky ones. The chances are high
that a teacher's words that have helped you achieve your successes, the dreams you
have made come true or the difficult things you have survived. Perhaps you already
know who that teacher will be. Why not find them and say thank you on World
Teachers' Day?

Penguins
Penguins are seabirds without wings that are mostly lived below the equator. Most
people on the island, including the king, adélie, chinstrap, and gentoo penguins, live in
and around cold Antarctica. Some can be seen in warmer climates. For colder
climates, a thick covering of fat and mostly packed, oily hairs are needed.

There are 18 different types of penguins, and while they are different in size and form,
all have white bellies and black bodies. They may swim around while hiding from
enemies like leopard seals and orcas because of this strong countershading.

Although they are unable to fly, penguins are good swimmers thanks to their hard
flippers, webbed feet, and streamlined form. They live most of their life in the ocean
and spend most of their time below water foraging for krill, squid, and lobsters. They
can swim at a rate of about 15 mph, and move more quickly, they frequently jump out
of the water or porpoise.

Penguins often waddle, jump, or run on land with their bodies tilted forward and
keeping a straight position. By "tobogganing," skating on the ice on their bellies, and
walking with their feet, polar penguins may cover great distances quickly. They form
enormous colonies that keep them warm and defend them from enemies when it is
cold.

To lay their eggs and raise their babies, penguins travel to the shore. Most penguins
only produce one or two eggs at a time and remain with their mate for many years.
When the eggs hatch, the parents alternately keep the eggs warm while also providing
food and care for the babies. Each year, hundreds of newborn birds wait in groups as
their parents hunt for food for a few weeks.

An Amazing Birthday Surprise!

We travelled to Kuching, Sarawak, for one week to celebrate my wife’s

birthday. When booking our room at the Hotel Indigo, we briefly mentioned her
birthday to the reservation officer. We hoped to get a room with a view, but we did
not insist on it.

That conversation was a month before we booked the trip. (35) _________. After
