Subject: Number of Attempts allowed to pass the

The Directorate General of Training (DGT) is responsible for
India Trade Test(AITT) for assessment and certification of conducting the All
trainees enrolled in the
Craftsmen Training Scheme(CTS), CITS, etc. The
that the assessment and certification of the traineesDGT is striving towards ensuring
is done in a timely manner, so
that the trainees are equipped better for their career and
the process of conducting the regular and supplementaryprofessions. Accordingly,
examinations is being
streamlined. It has been decided to conduct the supplementary examination at
more frequent intervals.

Accordingly, in supersession of DGT order no MSDE-19/02/2018-CD dated 26th


February 2019 on the subject "Decrease in number of existing attempts to be
to trainees to pass All India Trade Test" (copy enclosed), the following ordersgiven
are
issued:

i. Trainees willbe allowed to appear in theAll India Trade Test (AITT) for a
total 04 attempts only (one regular and three consecutive supplementary
examinations).
i. For counting the number of attempts made by a trainee, the regular
examination conducted for his/her batch (defined by the year of admission)
willbe considered as an attempt for him/her irrespective of him/her being fail
partially fail/absentineligible in that examination.
i. Subsequently, he/she willbe allowed to appear in only three consecutive
(successive) supplementary examination held/notified by the DGT.
iv. Ifa trainee does notsuccessfully pass the AITT in the providedfour attempts
(one regular and three consecutive supplementary exarminations), the name
of the trainee will be struck off from the portal. Such trainees will need to
apply afresh for the admission if he/she desires.
v. For a 'two-year course, a trainee will be permitted to attempt the last (i.e. the
third supplementary attempt) for the second-year examination, only if he/she
has already passed the first-year exam.
This is applicable for all training schemes of the DGT viz. CTS (including Flexi
MoU, CoE), CITS and ATS for both regular and private trainees.
This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
